Having Issues With K-x Portrait Mode. Help Please

The issue im having is that when I move the program wheel it does not recognize portrait mode at all, it always says landscape. All the other camera modes seem to be working just fine. I have updated the firmware and reset the camera to default settings but still no luck. :( Any help is greatly appreciated and i thank you in advance.
