Guess I will just try re-flashing the firmware, maybe that will reset the custom image settings back to their defaults.

Yes I have the manual, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to answer all of my questions as you suggest.
If I do adjust one of the Pentax supplied custom image modes and then save it as my user settings, correct me if I am wrong, but dont I have to have the mode dial set to user in order to use those settings?
What if I want to just bump up the contrast, saturation and sharpness a bit and then shoot something with shutter priority before shooting something else with apature priority while retaining my desired contrast/saturation/sharpness settings. Is that possible?
Also it doesn't say how to reset the original custom image profiles. I can reset the user settings but that does not set the pre-set custom image profiles back to their defaults. While messing around with the settings I have changed the sliders quite a bit and just want them set back to their original positions. Is there any way to do that?

I want to just up the contrast and saturation a bit when shooting jpegs on my K7. I have been fiddling with some of the custom image settings a bit. I have a couple of questions.
1. Is there any way to create your own custom profile or do you just have to adjust one of the pentax inbuilt ones?
2. Is there any way to reset the provided custom image profiles back to their original settings after adjusting them?
3. If the answer to question 2 is no, then can someone please tell me the default settings for the sliders on the bright profile :)

Well I don't have a telephoto lens in my kit at all at the moment and I am sort of torn between these three budget lenses.
Pentax DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED
Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG macro
Tamron AF 70-300 F4-5.6 Di LD Macro
They all seem to get "good value for money/the sort of quality you would expect for a lens in this price range" reviews. All of them seem ok, with the Sigma and Tammy giving that extra bit of reach that may come in handy. Anyone care to comment on which one they would buy
Is the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 ever going to see the light of day?

What are you talking about, it's spring time. "Fall" was six months ago :)

Thanks for that Chirpy, that is a bit of a relief.
Like I said it wouldn't be the end of the world if it didn't work as I could sell it on no probs anyway. Put it this way, I was able to buy the AF360FGZ, a stofen diffuser and a SMCP-FA 50mm f/1.4 for less than the flash on it's own would have cost locally.

I ended up just ordering the AF360FGZ anyway and will have a play with it and see how I go. Ordered from the US with a few other things to save on shipping. With the strength of the Aussie dollar against the US dollar at the moment it was very cheap compared to prices locally. In fact if I can't get it to work I will probably be able to sell it on locally at a profit.

Sorry to revive an old thread. But I just wanted to ask what flash units other GX-10 owners are using. By the sounds of it the AF360FGZ isn't compatible and the Samsung unit is pretty hard to track down. Any other suggestions?
