Assuming you are going for APS-C, you just need 2 lens to start.

The SMC DA 15mm f4 limited is a great great great lens. Equivalent to around 21 mm in FF terms, this lens is THE landscape lens on APS-C. It also possess the most amazing starburst ability in the Pentax line-up. SMC Pentax-DA 15mm F4 ED AL Limited Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

SMC DA 35mm f2.4 AL the plastic fantastic. The 50mm FF equivalent or the normal lens for everyday photography.

If you like manual lens like I do, then options are much wider.

I have not included telephoto suggestions as I'm not familiar with that area.

A used K-5iis might just do the trick and save you some money to spend on lenses, filters, etc.

Check this out if you wana hear about the eternal (and mostly meaningless) talk about APS-C vs FF:

Hi, can I ask if PH-RBA52 will work on the old manual lenses like the SMC K 35mm f3.5 which has a 52mm thread size? Thank you.

I have a Sandisk Class 6 card that writes fast enough for me (30 MB /second). And for less money. I think it's a marketing move by Sandisk.

Merry Christmas from Singapore

hi folks,

Merry Christmas from Singapore! It's a small country in Asia. However, Singapore is very accessible to nearby tropical countries like Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines where photographic opportunities are plenty. Especially in these periods where modernization meets old times in various cities. Of course, the many tropical resorts in Thailand offer countless dreamy 'holiday shots'.

cheers!

S95 is a great compact and I've always garnered "wows" from friends who view the images on the camera itself. However, the battery life sucks, especially after taking 2 or 3 30 second videos...
