Untrue. I do not need to lie down to see the screen when taking a ground level shot and can't imagine why you have this difficulty. When I first received my K3/3, I was pleasantly surprised at the screen's legibility at substantial angles. Perhaps your screen's illumination needs adjusting.

That statement doesn't track. In any case, I have ordinary coordination and have no problems using that function.

The good news it that your camera is probably fine.
IIRC, reset is found at menu [wrench] 5.
I'm not sure if it affects date and time, or if the default value for sensitivity is "auto."

You should consider Godox flashes, especially the TT350. They are relatively compact and the head tilts and swivels.

My wife and I use them whenever hiking or traveling with our cameras. On a backpack, I attach it to the right shoulder strap and mount the camera with the lens pointing to the left (instead of down). I find this stabilizes the camera best and clipping gear in and out is more natural. I like having both hands free while hiking without risking camera gear swinging about. It also facilitates lens changes when there is no convenient place to rest the camera or lens. My go to outfit for this scenario is my KP or K3Miii coupled with my 55-300 PLM.
I think it would work well with your K1000.

It seems more like an unsecured ball head than a gimbal.
I use a monopod for wildlife. I switched from using it with a ball head to a tilt head. Attached to my lens foot, the assembly is slung over my shoulder as I move about. I found it more convenient and steadier than the ball head. Since everything is already attached, it can't be beat for speed when a shot presents itself.
The SpeediGimbal looks like it might be useful to someone that needs to walk with a cane or staff, allowing the monopod to double as a staff and camera support. Aside from that, I think there are better solutions.

Agreed. I use the WF1000XM4 since the ...M5 was not out yet, and Consumer Reports rated the M5 and M4 highest at an overall score of 87. The next highest score was 77 for two Bose QuietComfort products and two Sennheiser products. One of those, the Sennheiser CX Plus, was rated as a Smart Buy at only $95.
In the noise cancelling earbuds category, Consumer Reports rated to some others mentioned so far.
74 for Apple AirPods Pro = 74
73 for Sony WF-C700N = 73
71 for Jabra Elite 85t (the 65t was mentioned above)
I hope this helps.

I mount the camera horizontally in the clip (PD Capture Clip) and don't have any problem with the lenses extending. I also find it easier to remove the camera from the clip.

Aside from maybe Shooting Info Display (While Pressed), or using left hand fx buttons, it's not too practical for us BB shooters.
It might have been better for a single press to enable a setting/feature that the only lasts through one activity cycle (shot, viewing, metering). Also, intermittently pressing a button while shooting will degrade stability, leading to reduced sharpness. How much depends on the person and button used.

There is no need and the benefit is added convenience. If you've been using you camera satisfactory for years, there's likely no real benefit to you.

Check to see if your focus sensor is dirty. A dirty sensor has been known to cause all sorts of frustrating OVF focusing issues.
Kobie put together a video about cleaning the auto focus sensor. You Tube |

Absent that, based on your descriptions, IMO, there's a problem with your camera. From my K10D, KP and now K3iii, the K3iii surpasses all of them in OVF focusing.

I use a small aperture like f16 and shoot an unfocused image of the sky. Specks and dust are readily visible. Since the image projected on the sensor is upside down and reversed, the dust location on the sensor will be opposite from where it appears on the image.

You can simply ignore the page numbers and refer to section paragraph numbers, reprinting those that change. That is how legal reference volumes often worked. Volumes were in ring binders. Updates came as onion skin pages that required replacement within said binders. There were no page numbers.

Or black shoe polish, though I think paint will last longer.
For the OP, I'd get a quote for replacing the front element.

If you've not already done so, I'd do a full camera reset including removing the battery for an hour or three. Many electronic gremlins have been exorcised this way.
Best of luck!

It seems that you're using the molle loops for your clip, so I understand why the camera bounces. My wife and I use Peak Design capture clips encompassing a shoulder strap. I reduce bouncing further by mounting the camera sideways, so the lens points left, on my right strap, about nipple height. It makes it less awkward to grab the camera and easier to work the release.

You can use a gun safe dehumidifier rod in a drawer, cabinet or other enclosure in which you can store your camera. They're only about $20 and are basically heater rods that raise the ambient temperature within the enclosure.

I suspect that you may have an issue with AF fine adjustment for your lens. Pentax's "low AF performance" relates to tracking, as in birds flying, otherwise, af performance is excellent. Unless the bunnies are being chased by greyhounds, af should not be a problem.
