Do they offer that in an online store? 'cause if I check my favorite pricing websites I can't get a deal in that range… :(

need a fill light from behind, which set a small lighting effect on the hair. Also the face is too dark for my taste. I'd used another reflector from the right side.

I personally prefer large studio lights/softboxes

you are right, I have some trouble with the focus-screen, which front focusses on my K-r.

I find it hard to adjust the focus screen.

I like the preset a lot. You choose the f-stop you want, than turn the small ring back to wide open for focussing, turn it back for exposure and do the shot.

Maybe you lack a focus screen, like the Katzeye focussing screens?

Since I installed mine from focussingscreen.com I have a 90% "hitrate".

Just keep practicing and follow these instructions how to learn to focus.

Apple Religion

Apple is not a religion, although Steve Jobs would appreciate that for sure.

But most of Apple's product just work… it took M$ years to catch up and Windows 7 is now at a point, where it just works. Nevertheless I won't switch back to Windows again. Even with Windows 7 (which I also have installed on my MacBook) Windows is still awkward to use and many "features" are so well hidden somewhere in the system, that I really question the development team in Redmond if they ever have asked a non-IT person to try it, before they launch the next version…

Still, there are a lot of very good apps out there, which I miss on the Mac side. But when it comes down to day-to-day work, both systems will do the job. I stopped proselytizing years ago for one reason:

Once people know, that you are an IT-knowledgable person, they will start asking you for help and then, once THEY messed it up again and again, will blame you again…

Naaa, I tell people "sorry, I don't have a clue, that's why I use my Mac. Don't ask me about tips or support. Buy whatever you want and go ask the sales guy for support"

Just my 2cts.

720p 25fps, class 4 SDHC?

that is pretty amazing and good to know. I always was told, that I need at least Class-8 cards or even better... stupid me, instead of doing the math myself, I was believing others…

Anyways - even Class-10 SDHC have become dirt cheap these days. Just recently bought a 32GB no-name from eBay for small money and this works pretty well.

The limiting factor for me is not the card, it's the buffer size of my K-r. This will make me buy a K-5 pretty soon...

anyways - you are damn lucky to get all that equipment for just $25.
It's worth at least $150 on eBay.

Go and buy some film and shot some pictures. I really enjoy my original Spotmatic ;)
