Thanks much for the help. I am able to get the camera to fire now. I just have to play with the aperture settings to get the light correct. Thanks for all the assistance.

i am a new user. i purchased a K2000. I was told i could use a doubler lens. I purchased an inexpensive Toyo on Ebay. When i attempt to use in manual mode, get a reading on menu of F-----.
is there a setting i am not seeing or that i need to set to? i am attempting to use with lenses supplied. both standard and 50-200 lens give same result.
will this doubler work with this camera?

i am300 a new, uneducated user. I recently purchased a k2000 as a beginner unit. i like the camera and was told i could increase my zoom using a doubler lens. I purchased an inexpensive model on Ebay and when i attempt to use, I get a reading of F----- on the menu. I have it set to Manual mode. Attempting to use with a 50-200 lens that came with camera. Will this work? if so, is there some setting i am missing to get it to operate? any help would be greatly appreciated.
