Thanks sviro. Didn't really think about keeping the SD card in the camera. I guess I've always just popped it out. Thanks to everyone for their input. Love this forum! Now if I could only take as good pics as you guys...

Help me with a fast SD Card for my K-R

Just went to a birthday party. Brought my baby (K-r) with me and snapped the first picture..only to have it say on the screen, no SD card found. What? Rats! I left the SD card in my laptop last night as I was uploading all the pics to empty it for the party. Now I had nothing and had to rely on other family members pics from their point-n-shoots. So, I will now invest in a good quality sd card and keep my original in my camera bag at all times but am not sure which to go for. I've read class 10 and U1 are fastest but after reading reviews, it doesn't sound like that's necessarily true. Any advise is greatly appreciated!

I'm looking to get a little more reach out of my K-r kit lenses (18-55 & 55-300) by using a 2x tele-converter but am unsure which one to get (mounting style, brand, etc.). I'm sure you get better image quality with one of those super-telephoto lenses buy my budget (ie. wife) won't allow that kind of investment. Thanks!

I'm new to the DSLR and chose the K-R as my final decision after a careful look at all cameras in this price range. I'm confident I made the right decision. My point and shoot had worse focusing problems than this camera and it doesn't bother me. I actually find using the manual focus for shooting stationary objects more rewarding than simply pushing a button. Then again, I'm using the Live View 99% of the time. Love it!
