I just picked up a used DA 18-135, since my F 35-105 died, and really like it so far. Just wish it was a little longer. I do have a FA 28-200, in comparison to the 18-135 it just doesn't seem as sharp and the colors just seem kind of flat.
Any recommendations on moderately priced zooms 200mm+?

This is the first time I've really shot a lot with the 18-135, overall like it a lot. It seems a lot sharper and more vibrant colors than the FA 28-200. I wish it was longer for shooting the water front blues festival. You always want more from a lens, I wish it was more like the M 200mm, but the flexibility of a zoom. Below or two shots from the same set of the Los Lonely Boys both shot with a K5, first with the 18-135 second with the M200. Just converted from raw to jpeg with lightroom, no other processing. |

I accidentally posted this to last week, so lets try it again...
Focus isn't exactly where I wanted it, but I liked the over all look the best of the bunch. Taken with k20d and m85

New to the forums and much to learn! I picked up a k20D about a year and a half ago. Started with an old lens from my dad's former sf10, also a couple manual lens my wife had with her MG. The sf10 lost some teeth on the pick up and the MG lost the advance lever on a hike.
Picked up a few other lens off of Craigslist. A couple of F series and a kit lens. I've really gotten to like the kit lens.
Thea photo is from a hike last weekend up to Falls Creek Falls. A fairly easy hike, that ends a stunning set of falls. |
