Thanks, Shellie. I guess I wanted to jump in with both feet & got stuck in the mud!

Most say set to P or (head/shoulders) and I'll go back to that and hope I get some good shots. I'll also use my point & shoot for Easter.

The girls are 9 & 12 but still it's hard to make them sit for a portrait session so I'll make it as painless as possible and then post the results on this site for critique.

I wish I'd found this site a long time ago!

Actually I was reading the book "Understanding Exposure, 3rd edition" page 16.

It seemed simple enough but I guess I should have kept reading as Bryan Peterson says on the next page that setting it that was is the last thing he wants us to do is to forever leave it that way without knowing more.......

I was hoping for a fast cure because the settings on my camera are obvious "way off."

Thanks.

I have a new Pentax K-x and don't have a clue how to use it. I think I'm way over my head.

I want to take my granddaughters pictures on Easter. I've been told to Put On Manual, Change Lens Opening to f5.6 and then get close to the subject and pull away and the camera will tell me if the exposure is correct.

Well - didn't work.

Any suggestions? The shot was a "white out".

Thanks.

Hi Taser,

I bought a K-x for myself for Xmas. I think that was a mistake.

I still can't do much of anything with it.

I have a Canon G9 which I love and perhaps that's just what I should stay with.

Good luck to you selling the K-x. Ebay?

Jo
