I am little late to the game, but started in today by posting one from the 1st and 3rd. I seem to get into these in September every year, so do this year any differently.
I will be shooting my K5 with a Sigma 50-150 f.28 lens. I have a large event to shoot, and a few portrait sessions, and a couple festivals that are on the calendar, so it might be a busy month but should lend to some interesting subjects.

I took this one last month as part of the forums "Single in" challenge. This wall, and lamp, had just been painted. If you look closely you can see they even painted the broken blight bulb. The lines on the right side are the underneath side of the buildings rain gutters.
I like the clean feel of the mono color, the two lines running down the right side, and the basic non ornate utilitarian light fixture. Simply - Simple.
Oct 6th - Painted Lamp by dbinfocus, on Flickr
Shot with a K5 and a Sigma 24-135mm 2.8 -4.5. (for some reason the exif data is showing a different lens)

I have done this a few times over the years, and I guess I am back for more. I really enjoy the motivation this provides to find something to shoot, and to make sure I take the camera with me everywhere.
Last month I picked up a new to me Tamron 90mm 2.8 Macro. I need to learn the limitations and strengths of this lens, so I am looking forward to the month.

I had a similar offer last week from Amazon, because I had bought Lightroom or elements. Mine was an additional 400 off. It was normally 699 on sale for 599 less the additional 400 = 199 for the full version of CS6. It is not the extended version which is mostly about the 3D stuff.
I could not believe it was real. I read it prob 15 times. Double checked part numbers with Adobe's website yep full version CS6.,.. All checked out so I jumped all over it. They shipped it out today and will be delivered on Monday. What a get chance to finally get into the full Photoshop. I felt like a kid at Christmas!!! Still excited about it.

Here is a link to a Pentax challenge from last year. http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/thedevelopingtank/sets/72157627212914993/
I had just bought my K5 and wanted to get back into manual shooting. So I forced myself to use my old Pentax A50 1.7 and shot full manual focus and everything so that I could get to know my camera. This was a great practice and I have shot nothing but manual since, but width mostly AF lensa.
I was so glad I did this exersize because it forced me to use this lens, which I bought 20 years ago on a use K1000. What a great little jewel this lens is.

I used LR3 and loved it. Then got the beta of LR4... And never looked back. Just about everything is improved. I could not wait for the full version, and pre-bought 4.0 because it is just that much better.
I love the way the sliders start in the middle. The clarity slider is so much better. All the options for the brushes. For the price I would say go for it, you will be glad you did.

I agree, go for the LR4 beta. I have been in LR3 for about a year, and it is fantastic, but the LR4 beta is so much more powerful. Just one "small" example is all the sliders now start at 0 in the middle not 0 at far left.... which means for instance you can take the black slider either way not just in one direction. There are a lot of new things, but some those little changes are very powerful.

I am in..... really enjoyed and got a lot out of last month. Not sure which lens I will go with this month tho....either the kit lens from my old istDS which is a DA 18-55, or an old full frame Sigma. It is a 24-135 f2.8-4.5. It has a 77mm filter size and weighs a ton on my K5. Leaning towards the Simga, as I have not shot much with it in a while, and would like to see how it handles on the K5. The other option is an old Sears 135 f/2.8.
Anyway hope to enjoy this month as well as I did the last. I only missed two days last month, and that was due to being very ill.
Looking forward to the images for September!

Count me in.... I will be using my K5 with an old SMC Pentax A 50mm 2.0 lens. Manual focus. I have only had my K5 about a month, have only shot a few frames with this lens in the 15+ years I have owned it. So this should be fun.

I was amazed at the speed in which he replied. If rest of sale goes as quickly, and everything works well, then he will be among the best people I have dealt with on the net.

I am in Oklahoma as well and pretty new to the forum. Welcome to the forum and with world of DSLR's. I have been shooting Pentax cameras for the last 20 years. I just yesterday stepped up from my first DSLR (idstDs) to a K-5. Really love where Pentax has gone with this generation of Slr's. You have found a tremendous source of information on not only your camera, but photography as a whole.
Anyway welcome!
David.

I just got mine in today.... battery just got done charging so I will be out shooting tonight! I have waited several months and the price just got right, and at the same time some other things got just right, so I pulled the trigger.
It is a big move up from my ist*D. Love the fit an finish, appears to be a great camera. I am looking up the sensor stain test, and will make sure I got a good copy, but I feel like I just got a new car.
