My expectation on K-02:
Must Improve ... AF improved by 50% at least, LCD viewable under the sun light (if no viewfinder), Resolution 20mp if APSC, Thinner if APSC, TAV mode added,
Should Improve ... Video flexibility,
Like to have ... FF, Viewfinder (if so, can accept to take away the built-in flash),

Such green damselflies are quite common in Hong Kong.
Spring green make them attractive.

The photo was shot in Macau last Sunday and has been selected as the "Best of the Day" in a HK photo web site that has 100-300 photos a day.

The combination of K01 and DA15 often suprises me!!
DA21, DA40XS and A50 F1.4 are also my favourite lens on K01

K-3 Noise

If it is 100% cropped at ISO200, the noise is nearly not noticeable ... by me.
Besides the object should be a coke can which is a print on a metal ... I am thinking the supected noise may be the surface pattern of the matal.

When is a camera too much camera?

As an amateur, I feel excited on 8ftps, 24mp, AF improvement & focus peaking of K3 for 1)taking photos for moving butterfly, bee ...; 2)macro photography.
If not taking photo for moving objects, I think K-01 can handle well in most situations!

K-3 - touchscreen

Touchscreen is useful when reviewing, enlarging and deleting photos; selecting multi-options in info or setting menu; selecting focus point and trigger focusing.
I am delighted if K3 or future models are equipped with touchscreen only if 1)it can be on and off; 2)cost justified.

However if a DSLR is lack of it, i will not be disappointed.:asleep:

2) A50 F1.4 plus macro tube

For most situations, DFA100 is suggested. When low light or magnification>0.6, the 2nd is preferred.

Thinking About FF K-01 .. Say K-01F

So ... bigger than K-01. This may bring/allow a better ergonomics!
Some Pentax users want to upgrade to FF but not available currently. Should it be easier to develop a FF mirrorless than a FF DSLR?

Thinking About FF K-01 .. Say K-01F

As I have bought several A or M lenses and found them fun and useful when used on K-01..., I am thinking it will bring us another world if using these lenses on a full frame K-01 ... say K-01F.

There are many negative comments on K-01, say lack of view finder, fair ergonomics, bad position of green button, low burst rate in raw, fair auto-focus speed and accuracy, not comfortable when using tele-lens, fair focus-peaking ...

How do you think about K-01F?

The green button of K-01 is inconvenient and so make me furstrated in using M50 f1.7. It should be Ok if some tricky adaptions mentioned in the forum are made.

Now I have bought a A28 f2.8 and A50 f1.4 and felt full of fun in using them on K-01 ... !

Have you tried A50/1.4, M50/1.7 or A28/2.8 on K-01? It should be great!

Which 40 for K01?

I have got a DA40 Limited before but lost in a bus. I used it on K-5 and the photos are sharp with good contrast.
I bought a K-01 with DA40XS three weeks ago. I can say its photo quality as good as DA40 Limited.

The photos attached are resized from RAW without any PP. The 1st one is K-5 + DA40 limited. The 2nd one is K-01 + DA40XS.

What about a K-02

I think the K-01 was not positioned right when launching. The price was of course too high against no viewfinder, slow AF, uncomfortable grip ..
I bought it with DA40XS at $480 three weeks ago. I used it as 1)a stand-by camera of my K5; 2)daily companion for street shooting; 3)macro shooting, especially MF, for its function of focus peaking; 4)probing some good old prime k-mount lens.
The last two have brought me much fun!

If K-02 can strengthen certain functions and can be priced right, I think a fruitful niche market is still there.

I sometimes do not fully mount the M50 f1.7 on K-01 and then the aperture ring can control the aperture in A-Mode.
You may try ... at your own risk ...!!

Actually when I thought about 24mp, I had assumed it is with AA filter removed.
Besides, 24mp should be a compromised solution currently between image details, noise reduction, PP effectiveness, saving speed, storage, retrieving/processing time ...

Frankly speaking, 24mp should be already enough for me. I take photos in RAW(16mp)+JPG(2mp). For posting photos in my server, dropbox and other web sites, 2mp is a right justified size. RAW file is used when I need to PP or crop the photos to my preferred styles. Besides I often get fun when enlarging the file to get the details which our eyes cannot reach!!

Agreed. Howerver, if different sizes(16, 24 or 36) of raw format can be selected, 36mp is really an advantage!
