Hi all. I think I read somewhere on the site, that a linked purchase at BH would lead to an account upgrade. I've done this, and PM'd a forum administrator several days ago with my order #, but have not received a response from that PM, nor an account upgrade. I wonder if any of you have any pointers on best next steps ?

645 45-85mm FA Asking Price
300 Item Location
Near Toronto Canada (Canada) Item Description
I got this as part of a lot sale. I already have a 48-85 FA, so, don't have a use for a 2nd one.
This one has some noticeable cosmetic damages - no dents, but some significant
places where rubbing has removed paint. The glass has no flaws other than some
very minor dust. No scratches, fungus, haze. I've tested in on my 645D, and it works
perfectly (including AF (didn't have to adjust micro focus), and A mode). Pics look
great. I could not tell the difference between the pics taken with this vs my other
45-85.
Includes front + rear caps. No hood. I'm in Canada (Toronto area), and will give preference to local buyers. Prefer interac email transfer, but will consider paypal. Buyer pays shipping (if not a local deal).
(BTW, I'm mah4ever on fredmiranda.com, I have some feedback there, if you are interested). Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

SMC Pentax-FA 645 400mm F5.6 ED [IF] Asking Price
750$ CDN Item Location
Toronto area (Canada) Item Description I picked this up as part of a lot sale, and have not used it much. I have checked it on my 645D, and it's in perfect working order (including auto focus - which was dead on, with no need for micro adjustment, and the 'A' setting). The cosmetic condition is very good (I'd call it between 9 and 9+), and the glass shows no flaws (no scratches, no fungus, no haze). I've taken a few pics with and were very happy with those, but simply don't use the 645D for long pics enough to keep this. Comes with front and rear caps and hood. I don't have the pouch. I've added some pics of the lens area behind the hood, and the tripod mount - appended as another post. I'm in Canada (Toronto area), and will give preference to local buyers. Prefer interac email transfer, but will consider paypal. Buyer pays shipping (if not a local deal).

Since it's approaching Spring, I recently asked my retailer if they see the 25mm on the horizon. The response was vague and non conclusive, but indicated that Pentax may have discontinued the lens last fall. Disturbing. Anyone else have any news on what's up with this lens ?

Hi all. Seems Spring 2012 is also the case for me. I just received a phone call from my retailer that the lens ETA is now April 2012 (this is in North America). Crum.

I've had one on pre-order since May in Canada. I was told ETA was originally in May/June. I have not been given an updated ETA. Back in June, after a few emails asking about the delay, I received a comment that Pentax is focusing on some quality control improvements. Personally - that is fine by me - I'd much rather have such things all sorted out by Pentax, rather than an earlier delivery.

I agree. For 5000$ I would think 'stellar' resolution across the complete 645D frame, would be a reasonable expectation. Hopefully, production lenses will exhibit this.

Thx. Yea, I saw harklee I think mention that the A fares slightly better than the FA on the 645D. But I've seen other reports elsewhere that the FA fares significantly better (I believe these other reports I've seen were not on digitial). Was a bit confused by this. Perhaps it implies the A version has better center performance, but significantly poorer extreme edge performance (which wouldn't appear on the 645D, I guess, due to it's crop factor). Does this make sense ?

Hi. I'm considering adding one of these lenses. Auto focus would be nice, but not essential for a wide lens for me.
However, sharpness is key. Anyone have experience with both? How would you compare them ?
Thx !

Hi harklee,
There was a luminous-landscape review last November that talked about some focus issues at infinity. Wondering - have you experienced anything like that?
Here is a reference :Pentax 645D - A First Review
(Also can't wait to hear what you think of the new 25mm.)
Thx.
