Pentax Full Frame - An official statement from Pentax (they listened!)

Let's assume it gets taken before the R&D/budget board. Let us then assume that they agree that it would be a good idea, and the R&D board creates a FF R&D team for the project. It would also be reasonable to assume that it will be a weather sealed body similar to Canon's EOS 5D Mark II, based on previous models. Following said development of therein specified product, it would have to be submitted to the production team to make a sample for testing. Following that, assuming it is right the first time, it will have to be resubmitted to the budget board to decide if it is cheap enough to make and sell for a profit without being unreasonable. Then it is resubmitted to production for mass-production. The following year, it should make it from PENTAX JAPAN to PENTAX USA, again based on previous models.

I am aware that some steps are out of order.

I don't hope for anything before 2015 at best. Probably 2017, which was my prediction before this correspondence occurred.

I hope someone can prove me wrong for the better. Any ideas?

Okay. That has failed to yield results... oh well. It's (in my experience) always best to ask for cheap and work the price range up. And by retail, I mean retail of the current equivalents for A, KA, M, and F lenses.

You could get a Canon A-1. It uses FD mount and can be readily had online.

Portable Kit

No, I have never gotten a lens for more than that percent of retail. It's no fantasy. I have yet to detect an IQ problem at 100% crop. Or 200% for that matter. Hearing that, would someone like to add something constructive?

I know that the question of portable lens kits has been asked time and again, but I notice that they all lack some of the factors that I want.

I want a film capable AF and/or SDM (or third party equivalent) lens for snapshots,
A long telephoto of faster than 5.6,
A [similar to kit, but with higher IQ] wide-angle (20-28mm range (preferably prime (hints similar to kit instead of kit)),
and a fisheye,
and all for 10-25 percent retail at the time, with some degree of leniency or accompanied by good reasoning.

I also want my back to still work when an average trip is over. (with slight leniency)

Ways of determining a normal Lens?

A third possible definition is a lens with neither telephoto "compression" distortion nor wide angle "stretching" distortion. This would be a lens that has the same magnification (not referring to macro) as the human eye. This would remain a constant focal length, determined by your second definition, for any format. If it is human field of view you want, for digital you need, for the narrowest end of normal human field of view, a 2mm lens, providing 160 degrees. Average human field of view is a horizontal 200 degrees. The front optic could not very easily work without the edges ballooning past the edge of the lens barrel.

Experiences with DA* 300mm and Sigma 100-300mm?

I pick a prime over a zoom any day. My Pentax-K 80-200mm/4 has no image quality advantage over my cheap, off-brand 500mm/8 refractor, on at their respective focal lengths.

By the way, is there any way to charge it without the charger, because it doesn't get here for up to a month?

Okay. Thank you. I have been reading and rereading the manual, and I found that the problem was that the charger didn't come with the camera, and therefore I was unable to turn the camera on.

I am referring to what allows the computer to see the camera as a drive on the computer, as is described in multiple instruction manuals, and which is installed originally by use of the CD-ROM that comes with the new camera and complete used kits.
I hope that helps

At the time, I had no questions. I was simply stating my reasoning for (for the first time) joining an online forum-based community.
Now I have questions. I got the K20d in the mail today, but It didn't come with the software CD. The website said I could only update if I had the original CD-ROM. What do I do?

I have just received my K20d, and am quite happy with it. I would prefer full-frame, as would many others from what I have seen here, but am not currently all that impressed with the 1 stop advantage over APS-C.
I make a portion of my living off of photography, but would hardly call myself a professional. I photograph nature in its purest sense (wildlife reserves etc).
I have taken no formal classes in photography. Thank you for making it this far (and good job), and good bye.
