Thankyou for all the info, I have been having a look around for the TC's you have all mentioned and it seems that they are a little harder to find than I thought as far as fitting Pentax's goes. I will digest all this info and keep looking. Great report luftfluss, thanks.

Hi everyone,
Do Pentax make a teleconvertor (2x or ) to suit the DA 55-300 F4-5.8 Lens.
If not which brand could I use.
I realise I may lose auto functions with other brands.
Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone,
Is there a system to follow when making adjustments to photos in Photoshop Elements 9.
What I mean is do you check and adjust the levels, then contrast e.t.c. e.t.c.
Or does it not matter. Thanks.

Processing RAW in elements 9

Hi Guys,
I just bought Elements 9 and it won't let me import my RAW images so I can process them. They are in the PEF format from my K5 and for some reason it is giving me trouble. What am I doing wrong. I'm not having any trouble with JPEG images but it's annoying me that I can't get the RAW images up. Does it have anything to do with the photos being shot in the RGB settings and not ADOBE. I'm only a beginner so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

K5 Firmware update

Thanks Bill R, if I'd known that's all it was I wouldn't have worried about doing the update. I don't have a need for the GPS as the unit is way too expensive for the little good that it'll do.
Your explaining of this is greatly appreciated.
Cheers Darren

Hi everyone,
I uploaded the 1.10 firmware to my K5 and I'm wondering what use it is to me in Australia. The menu only shows countries in the northern hemisphere and none down South. Have I missed something or is there some other part I need to download to make the GPS system show us down South in the countries menu. Thanks for your help, if you can :).

I tried your test Schraubstock and yes I think your pretty much on the money. My attention was drawn to the wood in the first photo and it's definately drawn to the ant in the second photo. The extra bits add a bit of interest to the photo in the original one but for what I was trying to achieve the second photo is closer to the mark now.
Wombat I think I just got lucky

My first try at Macro photos. I've only just cropped this photo, nothing else. It's straight out of the camera. Any hints or tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi guys,
I'd like to buy the Photoshop program but I don't know which version to get.
Should I get just the very basic CS5 or is there something better for a beginner.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks mate I will try all that. Thankfully we don't have poison ivy down here but we do have very big and poisonous King Brown snakes which can make things very interesting at times.

Hi shooz,
I used a tripod and the photo was taken about 8am. I haven't tried the mirror up settings yet but that gives me something to try thats different. I fish this spot and along this river quite often in the summer so a late afternoon shot will get taken for sure. Thanks for your help.

Can I use these lenses

Hi guys,
Many years ago I bought a Canon T50 with these extra lenses. I'm wondering, with the correct Adaptall mounting system could I still use these on my new K5.
The lenses are as follows========
Tamron SP 60 - 300 1: 3.8-5.4 BBAR MC 62MM Macro 1:4 to 1:1.55
Tamron 1:2.5 28mm BBAR MC 49mm
Tamron SP F System 2x Tele-Converter BBAR MC

If I can use them, which mounting system should I buy.
I'm not 100% sure I will be able to use the Tele converter as it comes with a Canon mount permanently attached to it but let me know what you think. I was told by one camera store to just trade them in and buy a camera bag with the money he offered me but I don't think this fellas was looking after my best interests.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Darren
