200 doesn't usually even get in my bag. I've only really used it in SIC last April. It's a shame in a way, as it is quite good wide open and has nice bokeh.
This is wide open with M200. I've posted this before, but it's one of the best shots I took last year, so can't resist reposting it :) |

Is there are particular niche that would be a good fit for Ricoh? If they don't try to beat Sony at what Sony is doing or Canon at what Canon is doing, or Nikon at what Nikon is doing.... where do they go?

Thx all!
I'll have to try that. Usually I'm shooting with available light, so if anything I end up pushing it a stop. I have one more role of it that I'm hoping to shoot outdoors with some city lights. Love to try it at 320 (or something like that)!

Choosing a system capable of shooting better video than Pentax is a perfectly good reason to switch.
Using a 4K capable camera to shoot video is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
Best of luck with your switch. I concurrently shot many systems, including Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic, Canon, Nikon, and some Sony. In the end I chose Olympus+Panasonic and I haven't looked back. All of these cameras are amazingly capable for shooting still images, but Panasonic (and in some circumstances Sony) shoots video at a higher level. And you'll appreciate the difference.

Here are my four post K Series MF "Pentax Black Beauties" !
The Super A has just come back from visiting Eric and the LX & P50 are refueling for their trip to TN. The MX is grounded as it's never flown, so I think I'll leave it that way.

Just had a chat with Ricoh. Pentax Japan are holding the cards VERY tight here. So only FEW knows..Everything else is just speculations. But both me and Ricoh are pretty certain on what they will deliver with the FF. I know a few bits and pieces already, but if i share that information already, they will hunt me down..haha!

I have luckily scored a nice 400mm lens a few weeks back, and I would like to use this for astrophotography soon.
I do not have the GPS unit for Pentax yet, nor an equatorial mount, and I was wondering which would be better with this 400mm lens ? Or are then any drawbacks to using a Sigma 400mm f/5.6 tele macro for astrophotography ?
If you have any experience with this lens for this task, I'd like to hear of your experience.
If you know of any good links to sources for using the Pentax GPS, like turorials etc that could really help.
Thanks in advance !

I totally agree with bluestringer that this 100mm f/4 macro is a gem. I got one where the elements in front show signs of delamination. However, the quality of pictures seems unaffected. Here's one taken with the lens wide open.

I don't know, I'd rather have the option to buy the lens if I want to, rather than say it shouldn't exist at all.
If it's not for you, don't buy it... others might find it useful. I never understood this philosophy of "if I don't want it, it shouldn't be available" that I see in fora all the time.

Your reverse adapter must have more depth than a filter ring. I have to pull the lens away from the Q lens mount to reach infinity focus. It is also possible that different 50mm lenses may require different spacing when reversed. The 28mm lens will focus very close without even the filter ring extension. Interesting stuff.
thanks
