Thats a s#*tty move by CRK. I see very little point buying Australian stock when this is the type of warranty/service we receive. Very disappointing.
I'm tossing up weather I buy my K-01 locally or from b&h. Increasingly starting to think the premium price we pay here in Australia isn't worth it.

I have had a lot of less than satisfactory dealings with CRK's service department. Unfortunately their lack of caring about your K5 really doesn't suprise me.

It's not the exciting "exclusive" that I thought we might see (with the release time restrictions and all) but it was still a great interview :)
Thanks Adam!

Tangible camera without a mirror and with many interchangeable lenses... If you can touch it it is real :D so I think the K-01 is a "real" a mirrorless system.

I was under the impression that the F 24-50 f4 was the one to have? I could be wrong though. ;)

The price is amazing... and a big surprise! I'm not one to run round the forum saying "if Pentax doesn't do (whatever) I'm switching brands" but DAMN!
Pentax really is going to have to do something pretty impressive some time soon or prepare to loose some loyal followers.

I'm not too sure if Pentax could do it or not but I don't really need that many MP any way.
I'll be happy with a 16-20MP FF thank you :D

MAN! The lenses you will need to make the most of this sensor will have to be insane!
There has to be a limit to the number of MP you can cram into a FF DSLR sensor before it becomes pointless yes?

Welcome Tessl8d!
You will find that there are a lot of Melbourne Pentaxians there on the forums
I think you are pretty much on the right track with the lenses you have listed there. With a little bit of careful research I'm sure you will be able to get the lenses you are looking for at a good price.
As far as the compatibility of old/2nd hand lenses goes there is very little to worry about when it comes to fitting 2nd hand Pentax lenses to Pentax DSLR's.
I find the best places to research lenses are the Pentax Forums Lens Review Database HERE, Pentax Photo Gallery HERE and Bojidar Dimitrov's Pentax K-Mount Page HERE.
If you are still concerned or have any questions though us folk here on the forum will be more than willing to help you out :)

Thats exactly right saladin. If you look at the last picture of the Vivitar there is a skirt that sits out from the mount. In the pic it runs from around 6:00-11:30. This needs to be shaved back in order to mount the lens on DSLR's.
Cheers
Jake
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk ---------- Post added 02-06-12 at 05:20 PM ---------- If the buyer wants this skirt trimmed back I am happy to do it for them before I send the lens. I just wanted to advertise the lens in its original condition in case someone wanted it that way.

Thanks Douglas :) Its seems to be a very nice old lens. As you mentioned it is odd to see one with all of its papers like this. The main instruction booklet is like new and is pretty interesting to have a read of.
The M 50mm has sold already so I have updated the title.
Price for the Vivitar has also been dropped to AUD$65 + postage
Cheers
