Hi,
I agree a little less contrast would be a better rendition, thanks very much for your observation!

This beautiful lady works at a cafe I frequent. None of the photos I post are of pro models, just ladies I'm fortunate to meet. This has the quiet timeless quality I strive for.

I copied the hand-retouched print with my copy outfit which at the time had a Nikon 7000 with a bellows unit. The original was as I shot as listed, thanks for bringing this to my attention!

I'm drawn to past eras of photography and the Hollywood 'film noir' - 'femme fatale' is in some ways very similar and so this is my effort with a constant light source. I much prefer a constant light source as flash can get annoying for the subject and then there's the cycling time when I can lose the moment. Is anyone in agreement?

Hi, my friends!
I've blundered and apologizes! I did shoot with my LX but the lense used was the beautiful *300 f4, not the 50-135.
Post-processing for me is always biased to impart a timeless/nostalgic feel and I do each one individually. With this shot I did a lot of 20-30% cloning and burning to suppress the burn-out of the sunlight patches, also eliminated some unneeded detail in this busy shot. I use Corel PSP and it has one tool I frequently use, it's found in Enhance Photo - Local Tonal Mapping. I'm also not adverse to increase or decrease saturation in specific areas.
I hope this helps answer the pp question and thanks for your interest.

This man lives on the street. He is tough as you'd expect but in conversation is very affable with a witty sense of humor.

Thanks all!
I was in fact briefed on how to minimize the effects of expanding air for the ears but looking through the finder I'd be distracted and of course, it depended on where you were a the moment of the blast.

I was on assignment and they gave me almost too much freedom of movement around the Leopards. My ears are still ringing after all these years from the muzzle blast from the main battle guns! The Leopards were on loan to Canada from the Germans and still won the contest.

Yep, it's dappled sunlight thorough tree leaves. I'm instinctively responsive to the touch of nostalgia, it's peaceful with a timeless feel.
Thanks for your positive observations!

I think there's a tonal depth with film which has more depth than digital, not a lot, but for some of us it's worth the extra effort. Thanks for your feedback!

In my opinion, natural window light has a quality rarely equaled by even the biggest softbox, and b&w has a timeless quality I love. Hope you agree.

Thanks!!!
I do have a reasonably well-organized filing system and it's a good thing I didn't neglect to properly fix and wash the Tri-X negatives. I love b&w!

Made this photo in the mid 70's and recently the model, a close friend at the time, asked for a reprint as the one she had on her living room mantel got damaged.

For me old and abandoned autos causes me pause to imagine the people who owned it and what it looked like the day the new owners drove it away from the showroom.

I found this old fishing dory at rest on the East shore of Newfoundland close to the out port of Quidi Vidi.
