It's been awhile since I posted any pictures on this forum. Thought I'd share some photos from the trip.

Surprisingly my Tammy 17-50 still holds up well!

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

...and that problem can be solved with a new lens!

K-5 worth it?

I have traveled the same route as you, K100D -> K20 and in January upgraded to the K5. The camera is wonderful!!!! If you are looking for better dynamic range and low-light superiority, then the K5 is it. DR is all there, especially with ISO80. Low light - and I shoot ambient low light 'scapes (landscapes and cityscapes), the K5 puts the K20 to shame and the K20 I really really liked. The only other accessory you need is a tripod with a good head. I always buy at the end of the model production run. Camera is debugged and solid, along with a good price.

You can wait a bit for the K5II and K5IIs, but the prices will be higher. I do like the focus peaking capability on the K30, but I like the ISO80 better, so that is why I would go for the K5. Everything is always a compromise, and I really do not see any downsides here.

We had such a wonderful day in the park, spent about 12 hours exploring some areas we hadn't visited in the past. These are a few of my first that I uploaded, all are with the K5 and 43 ltd.

Because the question comes up so often, we're planning on doing a 10-24mm Tamron vs 12-24mm Sigma/Pentax comparison. Stay tuned for that!

I took a ride yesturday to Mount Evans. The road up Mount Evans is the highest roadway in the United States. There is some great scenery along the way with many photo opportunities, especially the wildlife. There are also many hiking trails on the mountain... if you can catch your breath.

Most of these photos were taken between 13,000 - 14,250 ft.
