Any chance of parting with just the K3 camera set?
Still interested if the price is right.

I sent my K-5 to customer service for repairing the same slap-mirror issue for the second times. First time I experienced this issue was one month after I bought this K-5 camera. After six months slight usage, same slap-mirror issue happened on my K-5. It always happens when a full charged battery was put into the camera. Originally, I tried to live with it, but the slap-mirror issue just became worse and worse. So, I sent it back to Pentax customer service for 2nd repairing.
This time, Pentax customer service told me that they replace the part, although they didn't tell me which part. I'm wondering if I should sell this camera because its poor build quality. Not to mention there're so many people complaining their K-5 has same mirror/ shutter issue, and Pentax didn't recognize this quality issue on its camera.

I had my K-5 sent back to Pentax Japan for repairing in early June, and a "Release Switch" was replaced, according to the repair invoice.
After a month use, the Mirror Flips issue didn't happen again so far, but I'm not sure if it'll come back latter. |

If you look at the picture I posted earlier, you'll know that the dust won't come from the lens. As a matter of fact, neither my any lens or K-5 CMOS sensor has that much dust (nearly zero dust), how come the dust will pass these two elements and go underneath the LCD...
Anyway, I have my K-5 cleaned when I sent it back for double-slapping mirror issue. We'll see how soon the duct will come back later...
How lucky my new K-5 is, which got both quality issues on it...

I had the same mirror disorder issue on my K-5 with nearly 2000 shots only. Sent the camera back to Pentax Japan Service center for repair, and just get it back yesterday (it took about 1 week for the repairing).
According to the Invoice, it said a "Release Switch" was replaced. Although the repair is free, I still pretty upset about K-5's quality. I also have my LCD cleaned as the everywhere dust underneath the screen...

I have the same problem that happening today on my K-5. Using the original battery (full-charged), the mirror will double-slap when taking the photo, and the camera acts crazy...

Well, you can see how bad this LCD dust issue is now... I have no idea how the dust went underneath the LCD, but clearly that I can't clean it by myself.

damn it... I have the same LCD dust issue on my K-5 with few weeks use.
I sent a letter to Pentax Japan service center to complain this issue, and got an "official" response that asking me to send the camera back for cleaning. They didn't mention if there will be a "solution" to solve this issue.
To me, I do seriously concern about the WR (weather resistant) on K-5 if there are so many LCD dust claims around the world, and I didn't get a satisfied answer from the service center if this LCD dust issue will come back later.
