Food looks delicious, but you could probably use a bit more DOF for these shots, in my opinion.

Great shot, Emacs. The necromancy is reviving this ancient thread though. I miss it.

Did you buy a GM1, Emacs?
Did you guys notice the deal on the EM5? I think it's a kit for $500, on slickdeals.

Looks delicious, but I am used to American sized portions. I'd have to eat 2 orders, maybe of each.

I can't imagine public urination would get you no more than a night in jail, it's not the USA after all. ---------- Post added 04-21-15 at 07:18 AM ----------
Was all that snow from this year, Hin? I thought we didn't get much, per the news. Looks like fun. I really wanted to show my daughter snow this year, but we were unable to make the time. Great photos, even if they are 3:2 ;).

Great shots. These MK1s are getting pretty affordable. I have been holding off for a MK2 for my wife, so she has the phone connectivity that's so important to her, but the MK1s can be found in the low to mid $300s(US).

I used to use the M 28mm, before I got my Sigma 30 (and the Contax G that I need to sell). The Sigma 30mm and 19mm are pretty great lenses and, at the time, were only $99. You might be able to find some on ebay, or even this marketplace, for cheap. It will be expensive to get a true wide angle legacy lens, so the 19mm is something to consider. Nice shots, Hin and Emacs.
Hin,
Was the panorama taken with the built in function? The artifacts appear low, but there wasn't a very large file to look at. A great set.
Emacs,
What a beautiful area, but I really love the ice formations, and the final (snow storm)?

Taking the perspective distortion into account, it still seems like a low volume building. Still, a cool structure. Thanks for the links, and another nice set.

Strangely small for such a dramatic building. What function does this perform? It looks so dramatic, in your first shot, and, in the second shot, it looks so small. I see that there are doors, so it's not simply a monument. Is it a small museum as well?

Great shots, all.
Maybe, but I don't know if he could quite get the people in the frame. I think they are important. I think the best he could do is 4:3.

The only way would be to change the Z axis. Sony had a patent for moving the sensor to focus any lens by moving the sensor rather than changing the focus on the lens. Pentax had a TC that turned manual lenses into AF. I assume they did the same thing, but they must have altered the position of the optical element in the TC. I've never seen one in action. An adapter, with no glass, would have to alter the length of the tube to achieve the same function(seems unlikely).

A very exciting camera, indeed. I would love to see Pentax come out with a similar camera with a new mount and a legacy adapter. None of the major camera companies, aside from Sony, seem to think it's a good idea. I'd really love to see smart adapters like the Canon to E mount and the Sony Alpha to E mount, for Pentax and Nikon. I would hope that they could maintain full functionality(pipe dreams).

I don't generally like this technique, an object in color on a black and white image, but I like it here.

Only ever heard it called V.I. (Vee-Eye) from school and conversations with other professionals. Maybe it's a regional thing. Six is clever, i suppose, but I wouldn't have known what the person was referring to unless they made it more clear. After my Unix class, in college, I've never looked back. I don't even use it on my Linux box.

I never got into vi. I know it's incredibly fast for those who are good at it, but it was never a skill I cared to cultivate, and my career has been Microsoft oriented.

I don't know about in the UK, but in the US they still sell all 3 versions. I recently saw the RX100 v1 for $330. If you don't need the features of the newer versions, it's a great option.

Sony is a lot more successful and they seem to care more about the lineup than Samsung. Samsung had a lot of momentum early on, but they've kind of faltered. That said, they did recently come out with a 50-150/2.8 and they do have some great primes. Sony is more established, there are a lot of lenses, and the cheap Sigma primes are great. Sony has shifted their focus, recently, to full frame lenses, however. I sometimes wonder if we'll see anymore APS-C lenses.
Have you considered just buying an RX100? It will fit in your pocket and the images are quite good.
