I used to use the freebie strap, but found that it irritated my neck, so I took it off and have been going strapless ever since. No regrets.

Really could have used a steadycam for this, and for future reference posting portrait oriented video online is considered a faux-pas ... it's really annoying.

Very happy to see this update - I'm only using the Limited pancakes, so very little difference to me at the moment, but it's nice to see Pentax giving the K-01 some love.
Now, the question is how long until the reviews online reflect the firmware fixes? Even if performance is drastically improved, I worry that Pentax has squandered their publicity on the v1.0 which wasn't well received.

Wow, so I just tried this and it worked.
I'd purchased a 17-70 f/4 a few months ago, and was really happy with it until I dropped it from about 12" off the ground. A small drop, but it was enough that I needed to send the lens in for repairs. The lens came back, and was in perfect shape... for a few months, at which point the SDM just quit. I was fed up enough with the lens that I gave up on it, having paid enough to send it in for repairs the first time, I shelved it. I even took the lens apart manually and tried fiddling with the SDM motor myself, but no luck.
I read this post yesterday, and just tried putting it on my K-01... and it worked! I don't know if my K100D Super just wasn't cutting it anymore or what, but the new camera seems to have sparked the lens back to life. I'm still not sold on Pentax's QA - and the SDM lenses tend to be more trouble than they're worth, but I'm very happy to have my 17-70 back and working.

Glad to see they called Pentax out on the AF issues - I've reported similar bugs to Pentax directly, but no word yet on a fix (they just have a sample photo).
The size/lens + SR tradeoff isn't very well discussed in any of these reviews, but I give them points for at least indicating the upsides - most reviews just look at the negatives.

I've been experiencing similar focus issues lately with the DA 21, 40 XS, and DA 70. At first I was thinking it was just the 70mm and I needed to get used to the very shallow depth of field at f/2.4, but after experiencing a similar issue with my brand new DA21 yesterday, I'm convinced that it's a camera rather than a lens issue.
I'm considering taking my K-01 in to get serviced, and if they can't fix it, returning the camera -- would appreciate any feedback from others in the forum who might have an idea of what's going on.

Yikes, great video (and she can really sing!) but the audio is terrible! Why is there so much static? Is that the built-in mic?

So that wasn't purchased in Canada? I've been wanting to check one out in-store, and haven't seen any around yet. =(
