Did you read the thread, swearing is not the issue. My issue is Ash made a reference to swearing on the forum replying to a post I made . I don't see how is had anything to do with anything I had said. The only reply, the thread was closed. I don't see that post as being rude or confrontational and I resent the shabby treatment.
Now I see this is just posted in the closed thread. (so I can't reply I assume)
I guess that monochrome swore and that was the reason for the edit. (sorry I am still not 100% certain about that). If that was the case had Ash indicated swearing was the reason for the "edit" non of this would have followed.
Now regarding the quote above.
1) I am directed to a special set of rules that apply to P&R when monochrome post was not made in P&R
--- I do not have an issue with limiting swearing but in fact the general rules that apply to the forum monochrome posted to made do not mention swearing.
2) The "thanks for playing" comment is rude and completely uncalled for. Rather then smoothing things over it just makes me madder.

Whatever. I come here mostly for the community and for me P&R is an important part of the community, though I'm not a frequent poster to P&R.
Interesting how you completely side stepped the meat of my post which was seeking a clear answer to the statement you made and the question I asked in the quoted material following. |

One thing is certain to me, endless discussion about gun control accomplishes nothing. Yet that is exactly what every tragedy spawns.
What are the root causes that make a person feel so disenfranchised to even thing of such actions much less carry them out?
Is the USA a place where a person with average resources and average abilities can thrive.
What about person with below average resources and below average abilities.
Does corporate USA spawn violence at home and abroad. How many people died here https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/political-religious-discussion/208229-too...-disgrace.html
Are working Moms a good idea.
What are the responsibilities of the news and entertainment giants. Is crap like the Expendables or Halo series good for society.
A few things I wonder about.

Nothing except fear of reprisal by the editing moderator regardless of the forum rules. Anyway another post does nothing to relieve the feeling of being violated.
I don't see myself as a problem child on the forum > 1400 posts and I've been edited once. My infraction I am told, I was off topic.
Having said that I am not entirely unsympathetic, most of the mods here do a bang up job most of the time. I have been a mod myself so I know first hand what a difficult and thankless job it can be.

You asked;
And I provided three examples of what I consider gross mockery of democracy.
Or I could try living in a community where the police and politicians do whatever they feel like doing regardless of the law. Seems to be more of that going around, neither is desirable. (and I don't expect my community to care for me)
That doesn't make it right or moral nor does it mean that I should ignore abuse and corruption. In fact authorities should be held to a higher standard because we as a society have put them in trusted positions.

I have no idea why you say swearing is not allowed on the forum.
I do not swear on the forum. I have never been reprimanded for swearing on the forum.
Are you saying monochrome swore in the post you edited?
Is this just an example? I don't swear on the forum because I have more effective ways to express myself and I know it bothers some. However there is nothing in the rules about it so some may assume it is not a priority. Just saying as a non swearing forum member.

No macing a peaceful student enforces democracy as does subverting the crowds at Occupy Wall street. The obscene behavior of the Toronto police at the G summit, good democratic stuff that. ;)

I guess we agree to disagree. The way I see it if you freeze the post I have the option to edit or not. I have the option to let my word be my words or not. When you edit you take that choice away. Perhaps not literary rape but at least touched inappropriately.

Well he probably was a troll. There were plenty of them, they appeared to be completely unmoderated and they nearly drove me off the forum, no great loss I know but still... I'm sure I could find dozens if not hundreds examples. I remember one post that suggested Ned was a csucker and that was allowed. So what was it that monochrome said or could possible say that was so bad it required censorship?

I agree.
There was no vote and no opinions asked for but I offer one anyway. The endless complaining about how for example Pentax, the K-01 and no FF sucks is far more annoying then anything on P&R. ;)

Beautiful, a very satisfying image. I'm surprised at the DOF for f1.4 but it sure works well. :)

Thanks Bob I appreciate the feedback.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your generous comments.
Thanks Jerry. I'm glad you included the first image. I have a thing with dark images. Been working on some brighter "stuff" and thought that one was OK. :)
