Since I really doubt that there will be a new Pentax shift-lens, at least for awhile, my number one wish would be a D FA 20mm f/4 Limited (pancake with DC if possible) for architecture, streetphotography and landscapes
D FA* 135mm f/2 with DC for potraits (and streetphotography?)
D FA* 500mm f/4 with a proper (= reliable, blazingly fast and accurate) SDM along with all the other goodies for birding

Northern lights seen in the town of Pieksämäki, Finland. It was slightly foggy and there are pretty bright lights of a rail yard near by so I didn't expect the aurora borealis to be seen this well. Normally when I shoot northern lights the exposure time is between 10 and 20 seconds aperture being f/4 (with this lens) so that night the lights were very bright. Not very often you can see street lights from this distance and auroras in the same photo, right? |

Thank you! That's the main library of Joensuu and yes, it's quite a nice building. Here's how it looks like when it's dark outside:
Taken with K-5 + 15mm Limited, both of the photos are from the back of the library.

I strongly suggest that you'd take your K-5 to the trip. I have both and with K-3 I get much easier (unwanted) shake in the photos when used exposure times about 1/focal length (which I have to use quite much this time a year) and the worst part of it is that it's hard notice on site. BTW, I was about a year ago on a holiday in Naples (Italy) and I had DA 15mm, DA 35mm f/2.4, FA 77mm and DA 55-300mm with me. The first one I mostly used when shooting outdoors and actually never felt like I'd need a wider lens (maybe because that's just so awesome little gem). Indoors the 35 was the mostly used one. There was a little use of the last two ones though I was happy that I took them with me and especially about the zoom on a boat trip from Sorrento to Positano along Amalfi Coast.

About two years ago I was shooting couple hours in -30 to -35°C (-24 to -31°F) with K-r + Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 OS HSM and only "problem" (besides awkward handling of a camera with mittens) was that HSM and LCDs got slower. Nothing got broken, not even the HSM which had been reported to "resign" in -10 to -15°C (14 to 5°F).

I really love the color rendition of this lens! If only it had AF - would F 28mm f/2.8 or FA 28mm f/2.8 be the answer for my longing?

And next ones are shot after the "swimming" of K-5 and the lens (be careful when you're at a lake!!). After drying both were working but I sent them for repair anyway, the body was repaired (new mainboard installed) but the lens wasn't because it would've cost more than buying a new one. All that's wrong with the objective is that every single lens of it are dirty.

I have quite similar thoughts than this fellow has:
I really, really would like to get a 28mm pancacke lens with f/2 (or better) that is weather sealed and quality of a limited lens! I was looking for a fast normal prime and was tempted to buy first a second hand Sigma 28mm f/1.8 ("too big" and has focusing issues) and then a second hand Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (had a feeling about not so good quality because it was a short time off sale (someone bought it and returned it?)) but I bought da 35mm f/2.4. I like the lens but the focal length is a little too long for me and there are situations where I would like to have f/2 or preferably better. So my suggestions are two versions of 28mm: f/1.4 or 1.8 limited and da f/2 or f/2.8.
8/10mm f/3.5 or f/4 fisheye prime? Could be small(ish) but still f/2.8 or even f/2? 12mm non-fisheye, maybe?
What about something like 200-400mm f/4 IF WR?
One thing more. It was very near that I never became a pentaxian. Before my first DSLR I wasn't digested the fact that I was actually buying a system not just a camera. I was somewhat short in budget so I had three alternatives: Nikon D5000 but It wasn't sold anymore in stores and I couldn't find any second hand, Canon 550D and a second hand Canon 50D. If there had been any D5000 I would've bought it without a doubt. There wasn't so I tried to find a second hand 50D which I didn't find and the price tag 550D had was too close to 50D would have had so I wasn't so tempted buy it either. I even tried Nikon D90 in a store but it didn't feel like "mine" and it was too pricey after all. So I went to last local camera store to try 550D with a hope that they had the last 50D to be sold with big discount. I tried the 550D and for curiosity 60D also (which felt superb in my hands because of the material on grip), had a little chat with the salesman and then he says "What about Pentax? We have K-x and K-r's are coming soon". I try K-x while he's telling me about Pentax and I think that this could be a good alternative and even the double kits price fits my budget. I say I'll search info about K-x in the internet but I'm still buying 50D if I find one with a reasonable price. I read some reviews of K-x and K-r and thought that I'll buy either one but only if I can't find a second hand 50D. I couldn't find the so-much-wanted-Canon so I bought K-r and boy I loved that! If that one local store didn't sell Pentax products and the salesman didn't mentioned Pentax, I never would have even thought of buying Pentax DSLR! Afterwards I was really happy that I didn't find 50D because Pentax system is better for me. I have been thinking this and it has brought me an idea that Pentax might have get much more new users with a true entry level K-mount body ("similar" to D3100 and 1100D) that has good sensor, SR, solid built and that feels better than other entry level bodies. A little marketing about the system would help also, but please no dirt throwing on other brands (but perhaps on Pentax cameras ;) ).

I've used Sigma 70-200 mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM II + Pentax-F 1.7x AF combination and it works just fine. The only glitch of the combo is that aperture info you get to EXIF is incorrect although exposure is correct (true aperture wide open is about 4.5, camera shows and EXIF has 9.5). Same thing with Sigma 17-70 mm f/2.8-4 DC OS HSM + P-F 1.7x combo also. I guess this happens with many Sigmas (at least newer ones). And like said earlier, HSM isn't "working" but the TC's AF does instead.
