50mm is a Pentax and 30mm is the sigma. I heard you can shoot wide open on the sigma and the shots I've seen are amazing. I shoot with a K-r and have have 1/12 hit ration shooting wide open with the 50.
Anyways I just bought a 10-17mm so I've reached my wife's lens limit for the year, but really want this 30. Should I do it? If so, anyone wanna trade?

I have a K-r...and love it. When it works...:asleep:
I'm seeing the major differences being mirror-less with no viewfinder. What's the benefits / cons with that? Shorter battery life? Thanks in advance.

First and foremost, just know that as someone who just started taking photography seriously a couple years ago my wife and I made a pact that I wouldn't spend more than $1,000 a year on this new "hobby" of mine. Well I just spent all of it on the 50mm 1.4 and 10-17mm. Well now that I want to try my hands at some strobe work (mostly bands and concerts, so mostly indoors) I'm spending endless hours researching TTL flashes that will work with my K-r.
Today's search lead to this. Specifications Type: Shoe Mount Guide No: 148' (45 m) at 85mm AF Illuminator: 3.3ft-20ft/1-6m (50mm Lens) Flash Duration: 1/1000 to 1/20,000 second TTL Dedication: Yes Bounce Head: Yes Swivel Head: Yes Recycle Time: 0.5-9 seconds (based on fresh batteries & full power) Power Source: Four rechargeable "AA" batteries (Lithium, Ni-cd & Ni-MH) Dimensions: 72mm x 100mm x 125mm Weight: 270g (without batteries ) For $79? This can't be true? Can it?No reviews so I looked up the Canon version. 4 stars. BUT: I noticed the titled changed from Super TTL to E-TTL. Hmmm. Any better suggestions for around $100? Should I just wait until next year and get the Pentax 540?
Thanks in advance for all your answers and comments guys. You truly have all been majorly helpful in this endeavor of mine!

Ok so I just got my 10-17mm in the mail right now. I put it on my K-r and noticed that even at 10mm it's not as fishy as I thought it'd be. Especially since it takes an extreme downwards angle to get my feet in the picture...do you perhaps have this on a K-5?

Main question, will this work on my K-r? It's described as a lens for full-frame cameras, yet it has DA in the name...I thought DA was for non-full-frame cameras? Either way, I just want to make sure this will work on my K-r, if so what will be the noticeable difference in my pictures as opposed to using this lens on a full frame?
Thank you so much in advance for your answers.

Sooooooooo...my K-r had the same issue, sent it to Pentax as it was still under warranty at the time, came back fine, then a week later it the blown (or hot?) pixel came back. Of course...my warranty had just expired.
