The mechanical sound of my K-30's shutter is typically enough to scare hummingbirds away. I imagine that they'd appreciate the electronic option. :)

Reviving an old thread here...
What's the current status of Lightroom tethering in the K-3III? The Ricoh software page only shows Image Transmitter as an option ... but it shows Lightroom support for older cameras like the KP. Anybody know?

I've seen one of these in-person. They're every bit as impressive as you might imagine. :)

You'd need an HDMI/USB video capture adapter to do this.
But you'd also need a camera that can output a 'clean' HDMI feed. I don't think that the K-3 can do this, but others might be able to correct me.
Ricoh really ought to provide an update/tool for this task since Canon has done so during the pandemic!

Hi, Paul. It looks to me like you're just not square to the target image. Try aligning carefully first and see if the effect goes away.

Thanks, Larry. That indeed looks like a useful function. I was more wondering about "standard" focus peaking. The white edge can sometimes get obscured by the subject color/brightness. I think that Sony allows control over the color.

Great video.
Has Ricoh enabled control over the focus peaking color yet?

I've also had pretty mixed experience with Precision, particularly when they need to communicate with Ricoh (they don't).
Having said this, a Facebook message to Ricoh seems to have been my best bet. You might give it a shot. Just give yourself the night to cool off first. ;)

It needs to have clean HDMI out, which the k-70 does not. I suspect that this type of thing could in principle be fixed with a firmware update, but Pentax doesn't appear to have any interest in doing so. I think you're out of luck in this venture.

Ok, gang. I'm expecting some great user reviews here. I'll probably wait until the price drops a bit (perhaps later this year?), but it's awfully tempting. The potential improvements in video, although not my main focus, might convince a skeptical spouse with a little one running around the house. :)

I'll change topics a bit...
Has anybody seen a listing (or even a price) for the external battery charger? Evidently it no longer comes with the camera. Only the plug-into-the-camera charging cord is bundled.

This thread claims USB 3 tethering (USB-C, I assume), plus it has both wifi and bluetooth.

Whoa. This update was at the top of my hope-it-comes-next list.
Now I just need to have Ricoh convince my wife...

Serkevan, I noticed the same thing. I already contacted the author, and they've issued a correction. Kudos to them for being so responsive.

Ha! Love it, Tom. I agree...looks like an arm to me. But it's fun to consider the possibility that she's actually sitting on somebody's lap. :)

Interesting...thanks.
I think I actually like the first one best! I don't know if it's the subtle leftover distortion or the light coming in the through the door, but the first one seems to have a better "abandoned" vibe to it. I appreciate you humoring my curiosity. :)
