You can in fact upgrade to v 1.11
The major gain I think will be on focus speed and accuracy.
and the focus thing may be more related to lens then to the camera I think
I've got a sig 17 70 tha sufers from back focus
and a 50 1.4 with fron focus
all you have to do is fine tune your focus for each individually lens with focus issus
the camera will memorise your settings even if you take the lens out.

Basicly when in play back mode the camera will adjust its display as you rotate the body
and its a shame they didn't put in on the K-5 that was the first thing I noticed.

I'm having this dificult choice to make,
It's between this two amazing lens
right this are my reasons to consider
it's gonna be used for portraits
tamaron has longer range(although 70 is a bit to much I already have a
sigma 17 - 70 to complet the set if a need to do a full body)
and is more solid built.
DA has a better range and is lighter
so I don't know what to get.
bear in mind that both lensses are farly expensive for my pocket
so it will have to be a definitive choice.
