AF adjustment problem. Different corners, different focus results.

Hi.
I have tested my lens on AF adjustment chart. The lens is Pentax 31 mm. F/1,8.
After number of tests I am confused. In the left side of a chart I see perfect results with exact focus on -00-, while in the right side it performs about 3 mm. front focus. Adjustment in my K20D does not help as one side of the lens shows perfect results. The lens is still in the warranty time period. Should I send it back? How to react on this?

Thanks.
Saulius

I would crop the very bottom a bit more closer to the stairs and reduce highlights.

No, colors in a first one where faded, because it was sunny midday (you could se it by shadows). I will have to come back there before the dawn.

What about the last picture? It seams that no one likes this shot, while I find it interesting. I'm biased.
You would be surprised how little PP has third picture. Though it is PP-cessed.

Yes, I also thought, that there are too much different details to focus in this picture.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi friends

I have a shot, that I am dubious about. It seems nice shot in it self, but what else I would have to correct there? What about contrast? Isn't it too green. At the bottom of a shot there was a part of a huge truck seen, so I replaced it with clone tool on "Aperture". I am not good at this post processing thing. Please share your thoughts and advices.
Thanks.

Hi

I would be glad to hear any critique on this experimental shot. This is one particular angle of several religious buildings when you can see all of their religious signs together. I Liked silhouettes and lines in the sky background. I also thought that it is good to show a little of roof texture so that dark areas in a picture would not be too boring. But then picture gets depth and the idea of silhouettes is compromised a little. Any comments

I am open to all the critics. Please feel free to write. I am learning.

Thanks
Saulius

Some problems with my new Pentax K20D

Hello
I posted earlier, that I have problems with my brand . It freezes sometimes and sometimes produces black shots. I thought it was some marginal problems related to the thing that I was not very well familiar to my camera, but...

I have done over 1000 shots with it so far and I face several problems and more frequently than before.

1. I was shooting golf players and during serial exposures camera freezed suddenly. After I took battery off and inserted it again it showed that there are (besides good ones) two shots: one black and one white with red line in the middle.
2. Camera quite often freezes usually after I change lenses or I wake it up from sleep mode. When it works good, all camera functions performs good and I am happy about it.

I attached that white frame with red line to show...
Any comments please. I am worried, because If I have to return it here might be some difficulties. I live in Lithuania. Bought the camera from B&H on line. Sent it to US address to my friend and he brought it to me home. No local warranty I guess.

Thanks

Hi colleagues

I am photo hobbyist/enthusiast. This is the shot taken in a swampy wood under challenging conditions. The sun was in front of my object. I tried to wait for evening, so that the light would fall on the roots, but the sun went down the hill and trees and effect was not what I expected to be. So next day I returned to the place and made some exposures with front sunshine and it seams as best appropriate time for this.

I sincerely ask to comment on this shot starting from composition to picture processing.
To be honest, I like this shot very much:cool:, but that is what makes me worry because I lack a critical view to it. I need a feed back and comments. Anyone please...

Thanks

P.S.
This picture was taken with Pentax K20D, smc-FA 31mm f/1.8, aperture - 11, shutter speed 1/10, ISO 200 exp. comp. -1.0 ev

Some problems with my new Pentax K20D

Hi colleagues
I am new to this forum. Hope to get some help here.
I Have purchased the Pentax K 20D and right after it arrived, I charged the battery and went to my anthropological field research in Lithuanian woods. Spent 10 days in a tent. I have been intensively shooting in various weather conditions. I like the camera and its performance. Though 98% of camera performance where good there are few problems I have faced:
1. The camera freezed 3 or 4 times. Turning it on and of haven't helped. I had to replace the battery and put in. After that camera started to work again.

2. Several times camera produced black shots in very different light conditions. The lens was open, exposure set correctly, camera metering and everything else worked good, but after tacking shots, it appeared simply solid black. I would turn the camera of and on and everything would be fine.
I was making night shots with long exposure up to 3 minutes. I have been doing one shot and I have had the only chance for it. During the long exposure I felt happy to make that shot, but it appeared the black though other night shots where good. I checked exposure settings. Everything had to be fine. That was frustrating. Same thing occasionally happened shooting in a daylight.

Any comments on that please. Is it something I have to be concerned?
Thanks

Urgent. Is it still risky to by DA*16 - 50 on line?

Hi everyone

I know, that DA*16 - 50 have had some problems. Many people who purchased it, returned it because of bad quality. I also have heard, that this was a case with a very first series (emission) of this lens and now problems are fixed.
I plan to purchase this lens on-line from US marked (my friend will bring it to me from US to Lithuania where I live). Is it still risky to by this lens without checking its performance? It would be very expensive for me to returne it and get the new one as I would have to pay huge taxes.
My friend will leave soon, so this is urgent question to me. I plan to purchase it from B&H .
Any comments, please.

Thanks
Saulius
