yeah thanks, you did see where I said the repositories keys were the broken links right? I can also go to github, but attempting to run the commands to add the repositories fails with the below 404 error. and of course simply running zypper install without the the repositories would fail with a no provider wouldn't it. but I've downloaded darktable and digiKam. so I'm good.
# zypper install lightzone

I attempted to try Lightzone, but site doesn't seem to still be maintained, all of the SUSE repositories links are broken and forum isn't accepting new thread posts, and when I attempted to email the site contact I had a return with "permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
74.125.129.26 does not like recipient. Remote host said: 550-5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist"

I have it under KDE Dev Platform 4.11.5 on SUSE by default

Re-posting this to this forum thanks to a suggestion from someone smarter than I :-)
I am looking to finally upgrade my Pentax K100d. I've now had this (and have been happy with it) for a long time. I upgraded from the K1000 film camera, I first started using that in Vietnam, and still have and use all my old lenses. So I am looking for suggestions and input, I can not afford new :-( so will be looking at the resale market. any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Gerry & Doglover, Thank you both for your input, I will go for the Tenpa, as it does look more like what I wanted! Thanks again! How does one close a thread now? Or does one? Do threads hang out forever, sad and alone because folks come to post and there is no more to say?

I actually got this camera from best buy, it is a K100D Super and I am very happy with it as it does work with all my old film lens. I do have three new lens coming on Monday, and BTW not all of us can afford the price jump (price drop?) of $740.00.

What Matt said, I would add take lots of notes with your pictures! I've found notes time of day etc helps me figure out the type of pictures I like.

Old Pentax user here, started on a k1000 M#F(#)FJE#WR ago and have kept with Pentax all those years. Everyone has a digital camera nowadays or so it seems and none of them are amatuers. Well now I've joined the ranks, I picked up a K100D super the beginning of this month and am relearning the joy of photography. I am very surprised that my lens not only fits but work! I have a lot of learning and I hope to learn from all of you here, as I do believe everyone has something to teach, even if (like me) it is what not to do!
Thanks in advance for the welcome, if in fact you do welcome me here, and if not, piss off :-) because you're not taking enough pictures!
