Just to clarify, you have both the FA 50 f1.7, and the F50 f1.7 mentioned in your signature ?
If that's the case, they are both very similar optically and as many have pointed out, the FA f1.7 is quite rare and should you want to sell that, am sure you can get a decent return for it.
I have the F50 f1.7 and find myself reaching for it all the time, even more than the DA40.

Perhaps you want to check first if you can use a dSLR at the concert ? What if they won't let you in with the SLR ? Can't really see you ditching the camera !! :p

Wow ... if only this listing was available last year when I got my K-r !! I now have all what I wanted ...
Those are some of the best prime lenses you're selling ... moving on to a different system ?

It is not a goodbye but just an "until we meet again" !!
There are prices to be paid, and sacrifices to be made when you want to make this world a better place ... which you are willingly carrying out.
I salute you ... be safe, and be proud !

Perhaps a basic course in photography will help your photos, instead of blaming it on the camera.

Picked it up through a classified ad (Kijiji) locally for $280 Cdn, still mint condition, even the box looks new. I think it is a good deal for me, yes ?
I have read so many threads on this lens, but I am still amazed at how flat is is when installed on my K-r. Can't wait to start shooting with it ... my favourite subjects being my kids, and would love to see how it turns out for candid shots.
Now I have the three limited (DA21/DA40/DA70) to go along with my 50/f1.7 ... which I love so much. Curious to know from any Pentaxians who have both the DA40 and a 50 ... which one do you use more ?

That's an excellent price for all of those ... almost to good to be true !! Make sure it is legit ... not a scam !
Like Hangman pointed out, the flash itself is around $150 already !!

For interior, I would consider the DA21 ... It is a sharp, thin and light lens to put on.

@OP: LBA is an addiction !! It is a unquenchable desire to add to your lens collection. Am sure many, many here are afflicted by it !! Just ask RioRico :-)

Thanks for the helpful info ...
I like my F50/1.7 alot, and uses it for portrait mainly, also for the low-light capability.
However, that DA40 is mighty tempting ...

Would love to have another DA Limited to join my DA21 and DA70 but the focal is close to my F50/1.7 ... which I use a lot. Will I use this more than my 50 ?

As with almost everyone, I use AF.s and CF+recompose method. This is the way I'm most comfortable with, and how I used since my film cameras. I remember fondly my days with my first AF camera, the Minolta Maxxum !

dSLR bodies come and go, but what you're buying into is the lens mount/system. Besides Pentax, which manufacturer can claim their legacy lens would work even in the most recent camera ? The problems of K-r and K-5 will just be memories in a few years, but I plan to use my Ltd lenses for a very long time !

Thanks crewl1 !! ... that's all we need, another LBA in the household !! :-)
I'm not surprised if she wants her own dSLR anytime soon ... don't worry, it will be a Pentax for sure !!

My problem is my better half prefers my K-r over her P&S ...
So she always try to use it as a P&S ... (horrors)

Hey bdery, I don't have the DA70 yet ... it is on my wish list. You think you can help me out with that, as you have done with the F50/1.7 ?? ;-)
