FYI Japan's standard FY is April to March throughout the country. This news is encouraging.

Thank you for the nomination and compliment. The Kayak is a special type used on fast water in Japan. These kayakers poaition themselves to slip into a wicked backwash in a narrow area created by a receding tide. They they try to extrircate themselves with a roll out and not getting thrown out of the kayak. (Many wash out). My part was finding a position with the best available light and timing. I post processed in lightroom.

For general information. Seculine has a remote control out there that will work with most Pentax models with very good range and the battery is replaceable. The model number is Twin1 R3-ut. The price was a little less than the Pentax WR RC. It claims to work for Pentax up to 30 meters. An additional feature is that it can also be connected to the camera with a supplied wire, so one piece of equipment is all you need. I have tested it with a K-5, K-7 and kr and there is no problem. Have yet to do the distance test. I bought mine in Japan but the packaging is in 5 languages so it must be available from someone. It also works for Canon, Nikon and Samsung. Forgot to add that it has a switch that allows it to be used as an led flashlight which could come in handy.
