This black & white (pp) photo was taken December 2010 during one of the most spectacular hoarfrosts experienced in my lifetime in Herefordshire on the borders of Wales and England. This oak tree is over 500 years old. A relative youngster.

Thanks for the feedback on your Sigma. 'Flat' sums it up but I guess for the money I shouldn't complain too much. I didn't realise that this lens had been developed for film rather than digital. If I had been told by the shop where I bought it I might have had second thoughts.

Nice photo. I just bought a Sigma 70-300mm lens for my K7. I'm a little disappointed with the colour rendition compared with my DA lenses. I would be interested to know if you have had any problems with this lens and the true colour quality of the images you get from using it?

I've just joined the Pentax Forum having decided it was time to take my Pentax ownership more seriously. Really looking forward to learning the art of digital photography from all the experienced photographers on this Forum.
I am using my first DSLR - the K7 - which I love. I have 2 lenses, the 18-55mm and the 50-200mm. I also purchased a Sigma 70-300mm lens but I'm not happy with the colour rendition. Nowhere as good as the Pentax lenses. So I'm thinking of changing it for a Pentax 12-24mm lens. Would be interested to know if other members have had this experience with Sigma lenses. Or is it my limited understanding of how to use the Sigma lens with the K7?
All the best
James
