Thinking about going into the card business Photos included :)

I have a question for all of you out there..

Been enjoying my camera equipment lately, and have been writing poetry for years, I really like to expand my tallent into the card industry..

But i do not know if it is legal for me to take pictures of my Personal Pony Collection to use as graphics on my cards... Can I get in trouble from hasbro for doing this. They did not supply the ponies to me for free. I had to pay for that on my own.. I am not using any of their own graphic or art design, just photographing the toys in the past for my cover art...

I like to experiment and improvise, be daring and creative... Here is a sample of my Photographic skills....

All were taken with the Pentax K20D and the 50mm 1.4 and pop up flash on my camera...These are just sample shots of what I can do... So what do you all think... I am so very serious about going professional... I used Photoshop CS3..

Would I be crazy to sell my DA* 50-135 for a FA 77mm ?

Dude if you have kids and stuff the 77 limited is awsome for portriats. If you have kids who are active and in sports the 50 135mm is awsome. Especially useful when mother nature likes to catch us off guard with a rainstorm. Yup she is an unpridicibal one. Even the weather man gets caught off guard by her.

Let's see with the 50 135mm you have little worry about rain or snow or even wet snow this jewel is weather sealed.

The 77 limited is awsome when it comes to portrits, and family moments, colour and speed are awsome.

So hard to choose, hey why not keep the 50 135 and just buy the 77 limited. That way friend you can have you're cake and eat it too. That is what I did, and I do not regret my choice.

One photo I have taken of our daughter out in winter, it was crappy dark skies and like 6:00 and the photo blows me away 50 135 is way awsome. You will regret selling such a fine jewel.

Do not know much about pricing of the 43 limited but I am in the market looking for one to buy. If you plan to sell, and depending on the condition of the lenses itself, along with some shots taken with it, I would obviously go for it at 400.00 USD asking price. Depending if you do not mind accepting paypal and shipping to Canada. Will pay extra for shipping insuranse is a must to have.

DA* lenses are they built to last ?

With all the SDM issues arising I am worried about the DA*SDM 50. 135mm crapping out at the time I need it to function mostly. I am also worried about the recent buy of the DA* SDM 300mm doing the same thing.

I feel I should not buy the DA*SDM 200mm.
I was thinking about buying the DA* SDM 16 50mm but that one has so many bad copies.

Should I stick with the 2 SDM* DA'S I have and not bother with the other 2 ?
Will they still work manual focus ? If not my DA*SDM 300mm is not 3 months old I might be able to trade that one in for something else.

We all know that the body of an slr would only last for so long, then in time will eventually crap out. I have no problem with that.

But to invest a lot of money in a lense we expect it to last a very long time, and why not we all spend our hard earn money on this and put faith in these lenses. That will last way beyond the body, and still work for future generations to enjoy, a fine piece of glass that our children/grandchildren will inherrit when are gone.

However I like many others here spend a lot of money on the da* weather sealent sdm lenses, many are not even past warrenty and are getting problems, and those who are past their warrenty, have a choice deal with it or pay more $$$ to get it fixed and you are not garentted it will not cause problems or crap out again.

The way the future runs is this "you can not make money off a one time buy."
I have only bought the DA* 50 135 and DA* 300 in the process of getting the DA* 200. Not a done deal till I pay the balance owing on the 3rd one.

But I am wondering should I scrap the DA*200 and get glass that will last as long as I live, or gamble with the DA* lense ?

The DA* 50 135 has a year left in warrenty and the DA* 300 is only 2months old should I return the DA*300 and scrap the final sale of the DA* 200 and put the money in glass that is built to last ?

The 12 24mm arrived today, what a relief, thought it would be canceled and reordered. I have a camera store selling me the da star 200mm, paid half and later, next month the other half.
I was thinking about the 35 limited marco but since I have the 100mm marco, I am not bothering with it.
I am considering the 16 50 da star but is it really worth it?

I forgot to ask if anyone have experience with the pentax macro flash, does it help out the macro photos better or not really ? what would you use a macro flash for. ?

If you do not want to pay 100 More um have you tried the market place, you might find someone there selling their copy. At least it is worth a try. If you get no luck there try the 2 places suggested above, before their prices go insane. Good luck.

Basement is full of tools, tools, more tools, tools again, tools, and tools.holiday decorations, books books and you guessed it more books, 2 freezers 1 small fridge. Washer and dryer and ornaments for outside and inside stored downstairs. Do not want to even think about the rest of the useless crap. Oh and a desktop computer that is never being used...

I collect ponies, the classics were my favourite, but went crazy on a spending spree on the new ones til the company decided to rerelease the same ratty pony, then changed to polly want to be. Money can be replaced, but the countless time I wasted on that junk, ignoring my children in the process, can never be brought back. Thankfully I have a very smart man who helped me see the light an quit the habbit before it was too late.
I plan to get rid of the rest this Christmas of the new pony crap I was suckered to buy. Sometimes we all have to learn our lesson the hard way. We all should learn from it and ask ourself, do we really need it. Most of the time the answer is no.

I bought both kids a Nintendo DS, and games. Now I look at it what a waste of money. Should have bought a camera for them instead. They would get much more joy taking a picture of their family and new baby sister or brother on the way. Get to print some out a make their very own scrapbook.

It is actually more expensive to make those lenses because the material and labour expenses went up. Plus our dollar went down in value. Ok I understand the dollar point of view but if the material and labour went up to, why is our neighbours not seeing a price hike in the cost of these lenses too ?

I still think we are super gouged regardless.

If the fa 31mm limited is such junk, why on earth would you want to buy it ? :hmm:
When you have 4. kids and another little one on the way, time is very limited. Blast it my card is full after a lot of snap shots. better download them to make more room to snap away. I figured to stock pile now before the prices of lenses surge beyond budget. So they are right there when I go to use them, without surfing the shop Canada zone and kick myself in the butt for not buying when the lense was cheap.
I am intrested in the da 30 marco limited. But is 449.00 really worth it ?

the last thing on my mind is camera body, because the price will change as they still continue to make newer ones. More expensive or little cheaper, at least lense expenses will be the least worry, since I am covered on almost bulk areas.:o

Intrested in the da Star 16 50mm but I am stumped on that one anyone have any sample pics from this lense ?;)

I have made many purchases in the past starting with my 1st slr pentax k10d 18 55mm kit lense and the faj fa 75 300mm.

Then later jumped in the quality lense program 77mm limited for studio photo quality images. I also have 540g flash, because the lightening is alful in the north. 31mm limited for outside photographing, and for night shots. The 100mm marco, can not stand getting near bugs yuck. The 50mm because it is so impressivly sharp. The star 50 135mm for taking action shots, and can withstand the extreme crazy climate change. The star 300mm for wildlife shots of birds and animals and some awsome nature photos. The 12 24mm for wide angle photographs of beautiful valleys and vast nature forests, yet can still use the lense to take photos of my kids out on the go. Just jumped ship to get the star 200mm the 2.5 stop and reviews are awsome. Will use this lense for nature so close that holy cranberries.
Where do I store all those lenses ? in a lense suitcase with a few silijel packs to soak up moisture.
Is my lense buying over ? Well I am looking at the da star 16 50mm but is it really worth the extra $$$ to get. I am also wondering if I should sell the kit lense and the faj 75 300mm, if so what is a fair price to ask for each ?

I feel that I am covered in the lense zone with what I have until they unveal a new 400mm or 500mm for super telephoto.
I plan to upgrade the pentax body, but wich one the k20d or the new one?
When I look at what I paid for all lenses and equipment, verses the asking price surge for them now. I am happy with the move I made in buying them then. ? The major regret of purchase is the faj 75 300mm. Is the da 18 55mm a keeper or should I sell the 2 ? Please post you're photos to convince me to keep my kit lense, or should I sell the kit lense too?

I believe the insane overpriced lense in Canada is because our economy is not as bad as our neighbours, let's face it look at all the forclosures in both of our back yards, look at the jobs being lost. Which of the 2 are in bad shape ? We are both in bad shape but holy grapple, what an insane way to make a quick buck.
Got most my glass and a few limited with 3 stars 100mm marco will do fine. Crosses hoofs that the 12 24mm will be honoured, since I bought 5 daysbefore the price surge. They taken the money put of my credit card, so they better honour it.

So yeah I feel the bite in my wallet too. But hey at least we have a roof over our head, food on the table, and we all prey we still have a job to support our family and that is truely what matters.

We can do wothout extra glass, and make do with what we have. But What I do not get is the basic need of food is going up In price, that is sick.

Pentax a turtle in a race,

what is you're opinion ? here is my 2 cents worth .....

Dudes, in the past Pentax spent more and more time advancing on film cameras while nike and cannon, jumped the digital banwagon early, that is why these 2 have ff digital slr cameras now. Pentax decided to jump on that train, but was a bit late and missed it. They have brought out some amasing slrs but they have not arrived at the ff level. Be patient, time will show and soon we will see a ff Pentax in the future...

For now just use what you have and enjoy the joys of wickid cool awsome photograps, if you want to spend money now invest it in fine glass. FF Pentax SLR carmera will show. After all slow and steady wins the race.. Hint... Hint....

once you get to the top of the ladder the only way to go is down hill, Cannon and Nikon are at the very top, they are very big. Pentax chose to take their time. And for that I feel those who chose to go with the Pentax flow will not be let down..

I do not need a Fancy wedding, names on Paper, ring. To let God know I love my man and will be with him for the rest of my life. ;)

Wedding is just in material, nothing more. Highly over rated. They make a promise, and in the end in most cases, not all, ends in divorce. So the promise they made between each other is broken, what a waste. Just my 2 cents. Not all marrages end this way, but some do. :o

We both know we love each other, and promised to be together, for as long as we both live. God knows this too. And we are happy with that. :D

So no wedding for us, we do not need a piece of paper or ring to remind us we are with each other for better or for wores. Our Love and care for each other and our children show us each and every day... ;)

Oh I forgot I have one of those rolling suitcases... Tons of emply space in that. What can I say my bag was getting overcrowded. :o

We are Extreamly cosuming so much now that before.

At first we only used what we need and we were happy with that. We lived within our means.

Now a days we use beyond what we need, it is all about WHAT I WANT. We seriously over consume on evrything... Maybe 10% of what you consume is all you really need, the rest of it you can do without. But it is our WANT that causes us to gulp eveything in its path...

Example.. I feel nascar racing is dumb . Watching a car spin in circles to see which is the fastest. what a waste of resourses.

Cosmetics hair dies jels all junk and a total waste of natural resources.

Dishwashers, plug in vibration chair, toys that do everything even destroy a childs imagination.

At first everything was made and created for need. Now a days, bulk of everything is created out of Want and greed.

Do not own a car, we rent 1/2 a house, have 4 kids and walk and use city transit to get to those far away places. Husband has a 3 passenger truck. That will do us fine. Never took a vacation, never traveled on plane or went back home. Do not smoke, drink, Hate jewelery, cosmetics is stupid never use the $hit, I buy a lot of second hand clothing, books, blankets, odd toy, funiture, glass containers, etc at the thrift store. But we buy aas much natural and organic foods. Spentds crazy on food everything else go cheap on.

Wierd we spend crazy $$$ on our wants, very little goes to what we need..

"WoW a Hummer I gotta have that ."

spends $$$$$$$ on that. Plus more for Gas $$$$$$$$$$$$$...

walks in store to buy food.

"Organic Grapes 8.00 bag that is CRAZY"

reaches for the cheaper Brand Genetic modified

" GM Grapes 1.00 not that is much better."

What is wrong with this shopper.... can you guess..???

The key to wealth is youre health. Think about that..
