I would say it's like a sixteenth to three quarters of an inch. It's basically a sliver. That's one of the reasons it's so hard to get a good picture. But I love using it. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.:hmm:

This lens doesn't take really good pictures, and it's not easy to use. So I don't know why I'm always using it!:)

Actually it was 1/1250 and 6.3. All I did was tweak the brightness and contrast. I took the picture in Jackson, MI. I am assuming the plane was heading towards Detroit as it was heading east. How high is it? I would guess miles but can't be any more specific than that.
