I was out one morning without any macro gear when I came across a busy insect intersection. I shot anyway. DA 35 f2.8 on KP at minimum focus, with a bit of cropping.
This one's got a drop of water on/in its mouth:
...and at 100%.
I haven't used the Plastic Fantastic that much and hadn't expected this sort of result from it. Guessing (correctly!) that maybe some of them would spend the night on this plant, I went back the next day even earlier in the morning (when they'd be colder, slower and easier to shoot) with the 35mm and my Vivitar 2X Macro Focusing Teleconverter. I wasn't quite as bowled over by what I got out of this combination, but that might have been more on me than the gear. Still, I'm glad I tried it. I might try the 35 with some extension just to see what it does...
Here are some 35+TC shots:

On a walk on Fraser Island, a staghorn fern. Some trees have dozens of these on their trunks. SFA anyone knows, the tree is indifferent, but the ferns benefit.

I too love my K-7! It was my first DSLR and until this week, my only one. I may have abused it more times than I can count, and it's handled all moments capably. I've even successfully shot sports indoors in terrible lighting and higher ISO but the grain was spectacular.
I only have a couple pics I've shared here so I'll attach them and pop more in later. |

The original Q with the 06 and a 16mm extension tube. With an LED Ringflash. The image is supposed to be of a very very fine dew covered cobweb but things went a bit awry.

Haven't used my reversed 18-55 II for a while, so I took it for a walk this morning. Cross posted from "Show me your insects," "Spiders" and the "Kit Lens Club"
Got some shots of a large grasshopper that seemed unusually tolerant of my presence. On seeing the photos, I noticed it had quite a number of injuries to it's head and thorax. They show up as rusty brown marks. It looks like they might be healing. .

It's a single malt scotch whisky. It's expensive, so you would have to spend quite a bit to get inebriated.

British troops fixing up the memorial for HMS Sheffield on Sea Lion Island. The ship was sunk with the loss of twenty lives during the Falklands War in 1982. Now I promise I'll head down to Lake Ontario and find some Long-tailed Ducks to photograph!

I always feel like i'm cheating. I do a white balance and adjust the levels, but honestly, that's just not the way it was.
This dog appeared to be blue. There was yellow light from a low in the sky sun just out of the frame. This is not reality, but some people who weren't there might argue it is. Really, the amateur belief that white balance is essential, would be laughable, if said in jest. I guess they have no idea why people used to use coloured filters. 2019-01-03-dogs-1 by Norm Head, on Flickr ---------- Post added 01-05-19 at 02:40 PM ----------
It would have been 4 hours gone by the time I got there. We've been promised shirt sun bursts for two days, but none have materialized.

My new KP arrived via UPS late yesterday and it took me a few hours to get the battery charged up. Put the DA 21mm lens on and took it with me today to the local southern Oregon barbershop where I get my hair cut ... and this is what I - and my KP - 'saw'.
I already knew the DA 21 was a fine lens ... but having it on the KP is clearly an interesting combination, photographically speaking.
