All PT-6 type engines start and are shut down in feather. Yes, they do paddle the air on startup. But, the pilot then puts them in "Ground-Fine" when idling which is a very flat pitch.

I just joined the forum a couple of days ago, and didn't get a chance to post an intro yet.
So, I've been a photographer since 1973. Hobbyist mostly. But I have done some freelance work.
I started out on my father's Rollieflex Automat, and Minox B. Then got a Pentax K1000, and a Konica around 1980, followed by a K-m. I've done lots of landscapes, action work, aerial, and portraits. I've fooled around with a couple of old Soviet Leica copies, and a couple of digital point and shoots.
Now, I just got a new Pentax K-r. I haven't had a chance to shoot much yet, but I plan on spending the weekend putting it through it's paces
