These arches once supported a temporary shelter. Over time the wind and weather shredded the cover exposing these very interesting arches. The machinery out in the elements is a common prairie scene.

The pelicans arrive every summer in Lockport Manitoba Canada. This old fellow landed in front of us and gave a few poses before flying off to join his flock.
When editing the photo I noticed his gnarly bill and wrinkled face.

This is a statue of Mahatma Gandhi which was donated to the Museum of Human Rights by the country of India. The tower in the background is the Esplanade Riel, a pedestrian bridge linking the city of Winnipeg with the French Quarter of St. Boniface. It was a clear, cold night but the moon was full so we ventured out. As we were driving to our destination this scene caught my eye. We turned around, went back and snapped a few shots. This was taken in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. |

We have a Provincial park a few miles from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. At one of the walking trails there the Chickadees have become so tame they will come and eat out of your hand. These two were arguing about who was going to eat first.

If you ever go on a photo expedition to the Canadian Arctic and have an emergency, this is the sight you will see. It is the C-130 Hercules flown by the Canadian Armed Forces Search and Rescue. They will drop emergency supplies as needed.
I shot this picture of the "Herc" doing "touch and goes" near Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.

This is St. Peters old stone church. It was built in 1853. Chief Peguis was a good friend to the early settlers. He attended here and was buried in this cemetery in 1864.

These switch engines are working in the rail yard in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.
The clouds of smoke indicate the engineer has the throttle open.

This is the foot bridge going from downtown Winnipeg to the French Quarter, St. Boniface. There is a Salisbury House restaurant on the bridge. This is a side-span cable-stayed pedestrian bridge. Behind it is the Provencher vehicle bridge.

This walking path runs between the golf course on the right and the river on the left. The wind was blowing through the fence off the golf course forming drifts and curls of snow. The wind was blowing about 40 mph making an eerie sound in the trees and coming through the fence. All in all it was a fun day, thank you for the challenge.

I'm fascinated by this old railway bridge near the park I frequent. I posed myself in the picture amongst the trees. My shadow turned out to be a star.

This tree is about 300 years old. It has survived many huge floods. It is in Kildonan park in Winnipeg. This is my favorite park to chill and take pictures in. The ducks are fun and the flowers are amazing.
