^^Thanks. The lens is built like a tank, and weighs like one too :D
It is really useful for up close shots for school concerts and the such
(on micro 4/3 it is 2x the field of view, so that's why)

The lens is all metal construction, even the hood is metal. Feels like the build quality of a SMC pentax lens. A world of difference when compared to a canon FD lens. Cant stand plastic the construction of those FD's.
If you want some pictures taken with the lens I can post those too, but there is a awful lot of wobble when using this lens. I need to get a lens mount for the tripod. Using my GF1 + pentax k adapter on a tripod still wobbles all over the place :D
Here's some pictures of the lens: |

My father let me use his K1000 and lenses for photography because he gave up film (shame, shame) but I happened to come across a lens designed for the pentax K mount which I cannot find any info online about.
Apparently, he purchased the lens at a "fortuneoff" for $99. Yes, I have the receipt. He's one of those.
Anyway, the lens is a 85-210mm Fortron Auto Zoom" f4.5 lens (not auto at all btw, and I dont mind)
Surprisingly enough, this lens is incredibly sharp and easy to focus (well on a tripod or against a tree :D)
I have a 70-250mm sakar lens for canon FD which wont truly focus for the life of me and is incredibly dull, yet there is no signs of dust or fungus or scratches/aberrations on the lens.
I just want to know who really made the Fortron lens. I think it probably was Ricoh, as the only thing that comes up from a "fortron" search is a Ricoh lens on ebay. The lens design also wasnt a dust pumper either, but rather a 2 stage lens with aperture dial, focal length adjustment dial and fine focus dial.
Anyone owned a Fortron lens? Thanks a bunch.

Definitely like the green. I think it resembles the Pentax brand more because that seems to be their color scheme on their newer lenses.

@Pioneer,
Nicely said, Love the anaphora :D. To elaborate on the battery, I had to replace the battery in my father's Film cameras. An canon AE-1 and Pentax K1000. The AE-1 used a 123A battery (or something like that). It was a $12 battery. what a waste of money. I looked everywhere in my house for one, even something that ran a battery of similar side. NOTHING. When it came time for the K1000, I found several button cell batteries inside a pocket mini flashlight. I was like SWEET. one battery alone is $8. No aluminum foil or any other spacers was needed, it just plain worked.
I bet you can even use the batteries from Berger King toys.
Gotta love the K1000. :D
