Thanks for the reply. I will do some experimentation at the meet tomorrow. I was thinking about getting another lens but I just saw the great deal that Adorama had on the K3 with grip and card that I could not resist. So, next weekend I will have the benefit of much better camera for the task. In reflection I do think you are correct about technique over technology and I will focus more on that tomorrow. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, Dan. I consider myself still a fairly amateur shooter so still have much to learn. My fastest lens at present are the FA 50mm and the DFA 100 MACRO. I did shoot some with the 50mm over the weekend but it was wider that I preferred and most of my shots with that lens came out blurry (in hindsight I think this is more my technique than anything else). I'm seriously thinking of stepping up to either the K5 IIs given the great deal at BH or the K3 coupled with a faster lens primarily for shooting wresting and some basketball. Would you please clarify what is meant by "Your settings match 4.9LV"? I am not familiar this terminology.

Thanks so much for this post. This past weekend I was shooting a HS wresting match with admittedly not the optimal equipment for said task: K30 and DFA 100mm macro. Today while sorting through the photos a great many, to my chagrin, were out of focus. You can imagine then the AHA! moment I felt as I read your tip. This will allow me to keep better focus on the wrestlers as they move about the mat and hopefully increase the keeper percentage. Thanks again. :)

Here's a shot I took of my son at his HS wrestling match earlier this year. My equipment really isn't ideal for sports photography but I did the best with what I had. Any suggestions for good lens for wrestling shoots? I'm usually positioned pretty close on the corner of the mat.

Hello!!! I would have posted this in the Q forum but since this is my first post, I started I here. I've been a lurker on this forum ever since I purchased my first DSLR, the K10D. Since then I've acquired a few lenses (DA 55-300, DA 18-55 AL, D FA 100mm 2.8 Macro WR, and FA 50mm F1.4), the K30, and just made an impulse purchase of a discounted Q with the 01 lens. With the purchase of the Q, I bought a Fotodiox adapter mainly because is was cheap and wasn't sure how much I wanted to invest in the Q. Now that I have it, I'm coming to the realization that I'm not able to set the aperture on my DA lenses. I'm assuming this adapter is primarily for lenses with aperture rings. Has anyone else been able to get much utility out of this adapter with DA lenses? This is my first post, but I don't plan for it to be my last. Thanx in advance.
