Now that I think back, I'm pretty sure I ran into this same issue shortly after buying the K1 years ago. The same solution worked and I don't know how I forgot about it.
I just very rarely use image sync for anything other than transferring images. Thanks again!

I did have composition adjust turned on and turning it off solved the problem!

I can connect to the camera and change controls through the Image Sync app I can not preview the image on my iPhone or fire the shutter. It was working fine several months ago.
After struggling with this issue for a few days I updated the camera's firmware to the latest version. That improved the situation to the point that I can now fire the shutter with the app but I still can't see what I'm shooting.
Don't know what else to do.

I needed to use the Ricoh image sync app yesterday for a remote situation where I wanted to see the image view on my iPhone.
When I fired up the image sync app everything seemed to connect to my camera with ease. However, I could not see the image on my iPhone.
I'm able to see the capture settings and make changes through the app but the image view on my phone is black and nothing happens when I try to fire the shutter through the app.
The app works flawlessly on my k3iii and I'm certain it worked when I used it with the K1ii several months ago.
Could something have changed in a recent update to the app or a K1ii firmware upgrade?
If anyone else has experienced this please reply and let me know if/how you were able to resolve the problem.

Yes. I am certain it does. I don't think I have tried it on my copy of the K3iii but I can doublecheck tonight when i get home from work. That will be about 10 hours from now. I'll post an answer as soon as I have one. Let me know if you have any other questions.

As others have pointed out, you are missing out on performance improvements and, in some cases, added functionality if you don’t update your camera’s firmware. Just follow the instructions and perform the firmware update.
Your problem will be solved.

Can somebody recommend the best strap for the 645z? I love this camera but using the default strap is literally a pain in the neck. I’m looking at Peak Design but I’m not sure which model would work the best. Hoping somebody with experience can point me in the right direction.

Hello 645ers,
Laowa has a new15mm f/4.5R Zero-D Shift lens that is supposed to work with medium format cameras.
Does anybody here know if it will work with the 645z?

You might want to try cleaning the sensor area. I had troubles and found that cleaning off the area under the OVF did the trick.

I love the grip on all my cameras. Actually wish there was one for the 645z. Just makes it super comfortable to switch from landscape to portrait. All of the controls are in the same place!
But I can see why others don’t want or need one.
I’m just used to it I guess.

I've been using the Rotatrim Professional M Series 24 for a few years.
It was ~$300 US new but I'm sure you could find a used one on ebay.
It is worth the price - it cuts so precisely! I would never buy another brand.
