in your shoes i would have simply put an aditional light on the fan or deflected some light its way.
nice skin prints on the second.

as you can see this kit lens gives soft images.however you have captured a nice mood with the contasting b+w in the first pic.

not too much noise considering the high iso.i'm assuming it was quite dark in the room as you had a long exposure also.did you use a tripod?
i found the 18-55mm kit lens hard work indoors due to small aperture.

thanks for the replies.yes i did see the first link and it sounds promising.thanks for the compatibilty link that clears it up my voltage question.
ive pm'd class a for some guidence.

no reply from classa unfortunatly.
well ive got the flash and tried it out.exept it dont fire when i take a picture.so not fully compatible with the kr.i imagine this to be because of the difference between pttl and ttl.it works in wireless mode.although its not letting me change the zoom at all.its stuck in 35mm mode.
any ideas?

great shots.
amazing quality at iso1600.i cant see any noise.
this is where i got lots to learn.i never go above iso 200 in daylight.
was ant filters used?

great colours in first shot(cakes look nice,havent seen any like that around my neck of the woods).
i havent seen a red squirel for ages.lovely shots too.
wb can be altered in post processing.

normaly he's a lazy boy,but point a camera his way and he finds a burst of energy.

i like this composition.i find the exposure under the bit where you have sample a tad too bright against the dark area's for my eye though.is this bit natural or added later?
