To be perfectly honest, I was excited and happy that my jump was from a K5 to the K1, however, I think I would have been happier with a KP given its compact size and capability. The K1 is unfortunately just too big for me to take around all the time. It is great to be able to use the FA limiteds in their native FF glory though.

This announcement got me so excited. The fact it comes with DC and WR as well is just amazing. I suspect the bigger build of the lens has been due to those implementations too. Either way, I'm loving it! What a time to be alive!

I found it quite interesting that dcxpert's (eBay store) DFA100 WR was more expensive than CR Kennedy's. Normally it's cheaper and I'd wait for the sweet eBay 15-20% off, but I pulled the pin on that lens cause it was cheaper off the Pentax webstore and I suspect prices might go up a little for it...
I feel really stupid having sold off my copy cause I didn't use it much, only to buy it again (at a higher price) cause I missed it. I guess that'll teach me to never sell lenses.

If they ever release a gold K1, maybe! Or a new FF mirrorless in gold?
Yeah she's perfectly fine now, but it's only so often you get a Pentax event happening in Sydney, especially one marking a century! I'll make sure to make her pay (sometime later in her life) for making me miss this event. hahaha

I think they have simply revised what the PUPIL discount applied to as it was a strange list of items to begin with. Things like Dyson vacuums and fans were eligible...

He has finally arrived! Here he is with his older sister:
After a quick test drive of this beast and I'm already in love with it. Sporting the 31mm, it was amazing to see the difference in AF and just overall beauty. This has been the best day of my life right behind the birth of my kids...And only just.

I was throwing out some old receipts and found the invoice for my K-5 purchase (got it from Digital Camera Warehouse) and it was about $1100. For the serious bit of technology that is inside the K-1, it's worth every cent (and more in my opinion, but let's not tell them). With this 20% off (on again by the way), it's extremely competitively priced.

I used to have an A 50 f1.4 and the bokeh was like velvet. Definitely regret selling it.

Edit: dcxpert just added another silver on their eBay store for $2799. The 20% off code from eBay just made this a no brainer. I'm the happiest man alive right now! This will match my silver 31 and 77 very nicely. :D

Oh my goodness...I used to have a dog who looked so much like this one! He was a Dalmatian cross Australian Blue Cattle. Developed a heart condition at 9 years of age and had to be put down, unfortunately. He was such an affectionate dog.
