yeh, i hear you on "Cancelgar", you can't even trust that airport to not be socked in w/ fog in the depths of summer (let alone the constant grey heavy clouds of the west kootenays for all the other seasons). I have to drive there regularly, but even then it can be dicey getting there (those passes are something else in the winter). very beautiful territory, much like the coast in some ways.
it is definitely beautiful driving around this area. all you have to do is pull off the hi-way (almost anywhere) and you get a beautiful scene. even if you don't come for work, there is beautiful camping all through the interior (i just came back from Penticton, very nice!)
I don't think it matters too much where you are in BC, you'll find some spectacular sites to photograph with that fancy dancey K-5 :)

i think the fast prime (the old ones are great and relatively inexpensive) and a tripod are the real solutions. Flash photography is almost never satisfactory, though there have been execellent suggestions here)

Hi all,
I'm a newbie from Cranbrook BC. I have used Pentax for more than 30 years and will never convert to anthing else at this point.
My k-20's in te shop and i'm looking to upgrade so am weighing th pro's and cons of the K-7 vs the K-r vs the K-x (the K-5 sounds great but is too rich for my blood right now.
