Since I got my F 28 mm f2.8 it's my most used lens. Beside the FOV I love the sharpness and color of this lens. |

From using MLU I would say that the mirror going up is quite well dampened. The mirror going down seems to be responsible for the noise and the kick you feel on firing.

Out there
Austrian Alps, July 2014
[Pentax ME, 50 mm, Agfa APX100 developed in Rodinal, 11 min, 18°] [Der Nebel kommt] by davidwitte1, on Flickr
So this week I started developing the rolls of film I shot during summer and autumn. Although I started shooting a while ago and developed quite a few rolls, it involved two "first times" for me. Because it is cheap and available at drugstores in Germany, I switched from shooting FP4+ to Agfa APX100. Quite recently Agfa changed something about their emulsions. However the information about the APX100 out there is quite confusing and it's never really clear if it's referring to the old or the new emulsion. So, I developed my first roll of APX100 and wasn't even sure if I got the time right.
In addition to that, I used Rodinal for the first time (I normally use D-76). My impression is, that you either hate or love Rodinal with its grainy images. So I wasn't really sure that even if I got the development time right that I would like the result. It was quite exciting.
But I am quite happy with the results. Sure, the grain is pronounced and the film looks more like TriX EI800 than an ISO 100 film, but it adds a certain feel to the images. Rodinal will not become my go-to developer but I will definitely use it again.
Cheers,
David

Wow, great images, Chris!
Finally I found some time to get out and shoot. First, Friday night the sky was so clear, that I felt the urge to shoot star trails. I tried a few different composition, but I just managed to process one image (115 exposures combined) so far.
On Sunday morning I went to the ferry terminal of Konstanz for the sunrise. I got quite lucky because the forecast was very bad and the sky densely clouded - except for a small spot in the East where the sun appeared: |

Thanks for hosting, geomaz!
Already a lot of great images in this POTW!
On monday I went to Altnau in Switzerland with friends to take some images during sunset:
For the last shot I was standing knee-deep in the water and wishing for a weather-resistant DA 15 mm Limited ;-)

Thanks for hosting, SpecialK! Great self portrait by the way!
This week I received an offer I couldn't refuse: a very reasonable priced FA 1:2.8 50 mm Macro. Even though I wasn't looking for the lens I had to buy it. Some of the images I took with this amazing lens: |

Yesterday I used the almost warm night and the almost full moon for some night shots. I'm not finished processing so I can just post one image so far: |

Thanks for hosting, ruggiex.
We had been waiting for it impatiently, but it has finally happened: spring arrived here at the Lake Constance. Of course I spent the whole weekend outside and shooting :-)
Have a great week,

StDevious - Great set! I like the vintage treatment of your images. Very dramatic skies!
kain - Not only the glasses are amazing in the image... Great capture!
casil403 - Love the shallow DOF in your images. Great work!
Pentaximus - Get set! Seems like you had a nice easter weekend.
noelcmn - Love the light in the first two images. Amazing captures!
paulh - Great set. I especially like the first one.
csmoore - Your images make me want to play with my flash as well. Beautiful low key work!
ramseybuckeye - Seems like you had a great trip - especially the shot of the bar is great.
Alamo5000 - amazing work you're presenting this week. My favorite image is the one of the blue flower.
lukulele - Sounds like you had quite an exciting weekend. Great shots!
wolfiegirl - Very cute baby! I know the problem with capturing a smiling baby: my 3 month old son really smiles a lot, but never when a camera is present...
Unfortunately I don't have anything to show here. Lately it's my fate that either I don't have time or the weather is really bad... Hopefully that's going to change this weekend because I've planned to make little photo excursion.
Have a great week,
David
