A few from this morning. The Osprey dropped the trout two frames after this shot, and a White Pelican scooped it up seconds later. Missed that opportunity though.

Ive always really liked my DA 50-200, but having recently got a KP its become even better. 8)
Also, I realised that I should really stop down - just to f8 at the long end - rather than leaving it wide-open as I had been doing.
Result, I reckon: Mum or dad by -Occasionally Focused-

Some shots of an Osprey hovering over a pond early this morning. Had the KP on the 150-450. Shots are much sharper than they appear on this forum. Don't know why they soften when uploading here.

What do you do after meeting somebody new online at 11PM? go ice climbing early morning the next day, of course! Luckily for her we were close in size so we were able to share my technical boots. She did quite well for her first time on the ice, even managed to lift the K-1 and 70-200 combo to snap a few pictures on me. Mental note: never again use the 70-200 for more than a few minutes before climbing. Did I mention I love my HD FA150-450mm?? Cropped a fair bit for dramatic effect, but I mean, come on, this is a huge tele zoom, not a dedicated macro! I think this lens has a split personality. Or is it me? LOL!

Had a visitor over the back yard yesterday. He's been scoping out the new goslings but we have not lost any over the last couple of weeks. Osprey over the back yard |

Thanks! I think the burrs on the vegetation have locked the registration algorithm in, as the leafhopper itself is not quite as well defined for colour transitions.
Here's an shot of a resting damselfly under even cloudier conditions later the same day. Whilst the reproduction ratio is lower, the slant angle of the body was awkward as I didn't want my shadow (such as there was) to fall across the insect. The five individual frames were at f/7.1

As I have started to process pictures from my motorbike ride to England and Scotland I will probably post several over the next days.
On my way I was kindly invited by a friend to stay a night at the fantastic Stanbrook Abbey Hotel in Worchestershire. Not the typical stay for motorbikers ...
Two quick shots before breakfast.

Next I spent a day at the Lake District in typical English weather crossing the Honister Pass and Kirkstone Pass, some of the steepest roads in Europe with 25% gradient single track roads ... a wonderful ride!
