Thought I would drop in to say hello. I have been a Canon user for 35 years and would never knock the brand. My problem was toting about 30 lbs of gear with a bad back. A 5D and 5 lenses including a 100-400 IS plus filters and whatever was a bit much. I decided to sell all of my dslr gear and get the Panasonic fz50. Great camera but I just could not get used to it. Sold it to my son in law and started researching other dslr's. After reading nothing but great reviews I decided on the K10D. After using a 5D all I can say is I am truely impressed. I have the 50mm 1.4, a Tamron 18-250, and a Sigma 105 mm Macro and the weight is next to nothing. I have been shooting with this camera for 2 weeks and maybe some day I'll find something I don't like about it. I do miss the 15-35L on the FF 5D but I plan on getting the 12-24 in the near future. Just thought you would like to hear what an old Canon user thinks about Pentax. Love this site and look forward to learn more about this amazing camera.
