I sold all my Pentax DSLR gear and bought a D610 (used), an 80-200/ 2.8, 50/ 1.4, 85/ 1.8, 18- 35/ 3.5, and 60/ 2.8 macro. The real reason I sold off the Pentax stuff is that the go to film body for me became the Nikon F4 and I got tired of carrying two systems around. I used to carry the K3, the Sigma 70-200/ 2.8 HSM, Tamron 17-50/ 2.8 (highly underrated lens), and then Nikon duplicates for my F4 and that sucked big time.
DO what is best for you. Pentax no longer made sense for me. I still shoot my MX with A primes but thats it.

Sorry, it sold quite some time ago. I no longer have any Pentax DSLR equipment so I do not check back very often. My Pentax stuff is all film now.

No, I do not think that there is an original eyepiece. This slides into place rather than 'install'. If you do not like it, you just slide it off, I believe. I use a lot of A lenses and this made manually focusing SO much better. Plus, it give your nose a little extra room so it is not smashed against the LCD. ---------- Post added 12-04-18 at 09:24 AM ---------- Pictures did not load so here they are: _DSC7602 by Jarrod Hills, on Flickr _DSC7601 by Jarrod Hills, on Flickr _DSC7600 by Jarrod Hills, on Flickr _DSC7599 by Jarrod Hills, on Flickr _DSC7598 by Jarrod Hills, on Flickr _DSC7597 by Jarrod Hills, on Flickr ---------- Post added 12-04-18 at 09:29 AM ----------

Sigma 70-200/ 2.8 HSM II APO EX DG Macro- $475 Asking Price
475.00 USD Item Location
Arlington, Va (United States) Item Description
I ran a two lens set up with my K3 and this is the second lens. I did not want to deal with the possible SDM failures so I got this and I am happy I did. It takes phenomenal photos. It balances rather well with a K3 and is K1 compatible (might need firmware update though not sure). The focus motor is fast and extremely quiet. When I first got it, I thought it was not working as I did not hear a single thing. I then noticed that it was already done! Fantastic lens. Comes with original paperwork, both caps, hood (perfect condition, no cracks), the travel case, and the original box.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax K3 - $375 Asking Price
375.00 USD Item Location
Arlington, Va (United States) Item Description
The time has come for me to be realistic. I shoot film (Pentax MX and ZX5) WAY more than I do digital so my K3 just sits in the Pelican case unused. When I do shoot digital, is family stuff and my first gen RX100 is more than enough for that.
Specs:
K3, ~8500 clicks, fantastic condition, stored in a padded Pelican case when not in use. Every single thing on it works. The only negative is that the word 'MENU' and 'INFO' on the buttons is slightly worn off (you can see in the photos).
What comes with it?
- K3
- Box, booklet, strap
- Charger with 2 batteries
- Pentax magnifying eyepiece (OME53) <- this makes focusing manually a breeze as well as composing easier
I am willing to ship in ConUS. I am looking for $375 all in. Shipping is dependent upon where you are located.
I like to see photos taken with the body whenever I buy a used camera so here are a few:

I switched to Capture One some time ago. I like it but one deficiency is in lens profiles. I know that LR6, what I have on my computer, has the profile to correct distortion. Can I open a file in LR6, apply the correction, and then export it as a corrected RAW file (DNG?) in order to have it for editing in C1?

This is the reason I'm interested in the MZ-S. Not it of loyalty per se but because I already have a few good A series lenses and my desire to not have to systems to carry around. This might not be possible as the MZ-S is lacking and I do not like the PZ-1P.

I have an MX and I love it. Problem is, it's not exactly the fastest of cameras to use. It's great for set up shots but not necessarily for family shots. I took it on a hike with me the other weekend (getting the film back soon). I had my three year old with me. Getting her to hold still while I focused, metered, adjusted speed, and then shot was difficult to say the least. Hence the looking for an AF camera. That and I would like to take two bodies to car races with me, one good and one digital, to use trackside.
Sure, the options will be a little bigger and heavier than the MX but it will still be lighter than my K3 for example. The plus is that any lenses that I invest in can be used on said K3, and maybe even a K1 once they figure out how up up the focus tracking ability and write speeds. As of now, I only have the F35-70/ 3.5 (which I will like), a Tamron 17-50 (APS-C), and the Sigma 70-200/2.8 (HSM so not going to work on anything else). A few more F or FA lenses could be bought to supplement my A series glass.
Decent MZ-S's are around $350 with grip. I will echo the thought about whether that is too much for an unknown quantity. An excellent F100 is $30 less. An F4 is even moreso. A Canon 1N or 3 is the same price. Granted, all of these require lenses to be bought but do would the MZ-S.
I'm leaning towards the F4 right now. It's the right split it seems better decent AF and still able to easily focus manually.

How is it with A lenses? I have not really found any mention of focusing screen replacements that allow for split prism focus aides.

I have and regularly use:
- Zeiss Ercona 1 (6x9)
- Yashica EM (6x6)
- Bronica ETR and ETRSI (6x4.5)
If youre looking for a quality 120 system for not a lot of money, the ETR system is phenomenal. I use my Yashica as a walk around. I got it for $50 on eBay and then sent it to Zach's for a complete overhaul (~$90). If you're looking for a great TLR, you absolutely cannot beat a Yashica with Yashinon lens for the money. Extremely sharp.

This is enough to keep me from purchasing one. I would love to get one but there are so many unknowns. Not many people seem to have one and can offer real info on them. A lot of people have three Z1P but I have handled one of those and do not like it.
Alas, I think I'll be picking up a known quantity Nikon F4 and building up a few lens kit. It's slightly bigger and heavier but I know parts and over knowledge is out there.

Who works on the MZ-S? I've emailed Eric (he worked on my MX) and he does not. I am seriously leaning towards one but they are a serious outlay of money with no one that I know of that works on it.

Will the MZ-S allow for Av? It does, correct? I am focusing more on the MZ-S for build reasons. What are the common faults/ failures of the MZ-S? The mirror motor gear is a weakness but is there anything else to look for? Is there a fix for the gear or will I have spent a good amount of money on a paperweight?
I have been flirting with a Nikon F5 but have not been able to pull the trigger as all of my lenses are obviously K mount. I am not too sure I want to carry around two systems again (Pentax K3 and two lenses) and a big F5 with two Nikon lenses. The option is to go all in on Nikon for film and then get a Nikon 7100 or something similar to the K3 in capability but I am not too sure I want to spend that money.

Great, thanks. The 7 allows for more for HSM so I am guessing that it opens the doors for even more modern A mount lenses?
