Can someone tell me what focus peaking is and how to use it. Is it combined with live view? Is it a function of the camera? I just bought a Rokinon 14mm and I read members using liveview and focus peaking with it.

Bought one on Cyber Monday as well, haven't received it yet. I am in Canada. Look forward to using it for Astrophotography. Have a 12-24mm for general wide angle.

I wear glasses but take them off when shooting. I have the diaopter set to max but would still like more clarity if possible. I am considering purchasing a Pentax magnifier for my K3. Has anyone used one and what are your views both positive or negative. I think they are worth about $26.00. There appear to be other brands available for Pentax mount.

Does the K70 have Astro Tracer? If not, you won't get pinpoint stars. You can buy or make a platform with tracer to resolve this problem. My recommendation is the Samyang 16mm F1.8. Beautiful wide angle lens. Good for landscapes and architecture as well.

Thanks a lot gang for the great info. I am trying to decide whether to upgrade to LR 6.5 FROM 5.7. I have never used LR before. Bought 5.7 two years ago but never used it. Running a K3.

Have you considered the new Samyang 16mm F1.8? If you are sticking to an ASP-C sensor, and often shoot in low light this could be a viable option. I think it is selling for about $40.00 more than the 14mm new.

Further to Adams suggestion I have tried to access the "detailed information screen" in playback. Currently I only show the histogram. The manual shows a very detailed information screen for still pictures (Page 13). How do I get that screen? Thanks for your assistance.

How can I see the focus length the camera is using? The reason I ask is that I am using an older Tokina prime lens and the option in the menu (input focal length) is not highlighted. I think it shows up in the edif data but that entails processing a picture. (I think my assumption is correct)
Does the camera not show the focal length of the lens currently attached to the camera?

Anyone used this lens for Astrophotography? I am trying to decide to use it or buy a Rokinon 14 or 16mm lens. If I don't have to invest an additional $300.00+ in another lens I won't.
