As a married gay couple. (TMI) Double income no kids household. We both enjoy camera gear. He's more of a video guy so he loves his two GH4. He's not really a Pentax fan at all in fact he really dislikes it. MY Q-S1 image are not as nice as his GH4 and my KS2 and KP video are not anywhere close to his GH4. He feels Pentax is outdated. Having Two lens mounts in one house gets expensive. We did by an adaptor for pentax to panasonic. I often find my 100mm macro in his camera bag.
As Pentax seems to be disappearing more and more from the Canadian market place, zero support in Canada, my husband dislikes the brand even more and Im starting to feel the same. I keep saying I want to jump ship to Fuji but he keeps saying "No keep what you have" to much invested at this point. I said maybe I should buy an Olympus next so we can have one lens mount in the house that didn't work either.
We do both enjoy the Ricoh Theta360. we have both the original and ThetaS. He kind of wants the V for 4k (not that its true 4K) We both hope Ricoh will continue to develop the 360 camera.
I believe the KP may be my last Pentax.

Just got a K5IIs its really nice, but Im still loving the Q its just so much fun to pack around and use. I really feel small cameras are the way of the future.

Mine does the same thing but I can live with it. I find it helps if you keep the adaptor all the way open or closed when starting up the Q.

Hi Iv been looking at Timelapes with that tilt-shift lens miniature fliter look. I started to play around with the Q only to find that I can't seem to use the Miniature filter well taking photos (interval shooting or other settings) yet some filters do work. Why is it that miniature filter can only be used after the photo is taken? Maybe pentax should make a tilt-shift lens for the Q that would be so fun.
If anyone has any tips for using miniature filter that would be great.

Well the Rain is back on the north island for the next 7 or 8 months. The last few days have been really wet. I was complaining to my FB friends and family with a post about being stuck inside all weekend and not getting out to do some shooting.
My Smart ass nephew replies don't you have a Pentax you have no excuse lol. Anyway two pics from my Q one just out the window the other of my K5 in the rain just for him lol. I wish the Q and Q10 where WR.

Just enjoying the Thanksgiving long weekend. Got up early to shot the fog lifting. I did a HDR of myself shooting with my K5 and another of my shooting buddy. I find the Q does a better job at HDR jpegs then the K5.

Snostrom I think your right.
I so love shooting with my Q but then I look at the IQ I get from my K5 and it makes the Q seem not so great. I would love to have a K01 as its a good blend of the two, but like you say Snostrom the K01 seems like its just not worth spending the money on right now maybe the next one.

I really never know what to say when posting my photos to forums like this. Alls I know is Im very very happy with the Q I don't even use my K5 anymore. The Q with all its noise gives a nice look of its own that I like.

Im really thinking about getting a K01. I really love shooting with the Q but when I look side by side with my K5 as much fun as the Q is, size matters if your really after that sharp look (as of right now) so maybe the K01 isn't so bad after all. I think I may sell my k5 but I will always keep the Q just because its so dam cute and fun to use. If a Q with a better (maybe not bigger) but better sensor comes out I would buy in a heat beat. Sensors get better all the time with new nano technology maybe one day we Q users will have the worlds smallest ILC that takes photos with greater IQ than todays FFs do, maybe not for a few years yet but could happen.
What would be really cool is if we could send in our Qs and for a small fee get the newer better sensor installed and then shipped back to us. Sensor up grads better idea than that Rico camera lens thing. Be even better if one could just pop out the old sensor and put in the new ones as they come out at home.

So cool to see the Q all pimped up. I was just watching DigitalRev TV. Kai made a remark about people with to much money " wasting money on some red dot thing " I'm not rich but I would buy a red dot thing if I was cuz it looks cool.
