keep in mind that the kit with your k10 is the first gen of the kit lens. Later it was updated to mark II for the k20d 14.6 MP sensor, and the WR follows the mark II optics.

what lenses are in your current nikon kit? You'll want to know if Pentax lenses will fit the range.

Currently pentax hasn't mentioned making a FF DSLR, they are more commited to the APS-C than the others though, with a full range of APS-C prime lenses.

The most similar pentax setup would be the K-5, 12-24/F4, 31 f1.8 Limited, 77 f1.8 Limited DA* 200/2.8, DA* 300f4.
Optically, it should be on par or better than your Canon glass. As for Auto focus, you may not find it to be any better. Of those lenses I've mentioned, only the DA* are weather sealed. To be fully weather sealed you need a K-5/K-7 and WR, or DA* lenses.
