today I made some photos in neighbors garden. As bokeh looked really good I dared to capture one photo without anything being sharp. Looking forward for your comment. all with 645d and 120 FA Makro.

Hi Steve,

I live in Tirol, Stubaital - a glacier skiing region, 20km away from Innsbruck, the capital of Tirol.
One more from yesterday, shot also with FA 200, a very fine lens btw.

Hi Tuco,
thanks. By the way your photos are amongst I am always looking for. Great stuff! Years ago when I worked with my large format Arcaswiss I did a lot of lab bw work but unfortunately I had problems with my skin because of Hydrochinon in the developer thus I had to change to digital. I worked a long time with Nikon (D700 and D3 actually). I was very happy with low light performance and reportage photography looked great. But in landscape I always missed the quality of my Arcaswiss and was longing for better quality. 2 months ago I had the possibility to test the Phase One IQ180 and was totally sold by the files. The decision making started and finally I bought the 645d a good week ago. IQ180 is out of my reach (at least now :))
Concerning your question: Yesterday we had heavy rain in Austria but I saw a chance that a small weather window could bring some improvement. Luckily I got the possibility to capture a few photos in brighter moments with no rain as well as some during rain (the wooden door was photographed during rain). I processed them in Lightroom (a kingdom for PhaseOne for support of PEF - please!!!!!) and further on enhanced the output in OnOne Photo Tools 2.6. but not that much. The washed air did most of the work for me.
Best regards

I know what you mean. I cropped to 1024px because I thaught that this is the max size of the image in the forum. As I see it is a bit less thus forgive the inaccuracy.
BTW also the first photo was a crop therefore youŽll probably saw not much difference in size.

Our new cat came together with the new 645d but not from the same company :D

This one with the FA 120. On the window sill with harsh backlight. Snapshot, thus no flash, no brightener. This is the jpg out of the cam with some adjustments and converted in bw. Have to work with the pef later.

Thanks. Right now I have invested in some used glass: A 35mm, FA 120, FA 200 the kit FA 55 and an 67 135 with adapter. I am happy with all the lenses. Especially the 35 and the 200 are absolutely stunning. Clockwise 1 and 4 are the 200, #2 is the 135 and #3 is the 35mm.
Here is one more with the 200 and open aperture

my first photos from today. Unfortunately the weather wasnŽt that grateful to spend me beautiful light. Thus I tried my best to make some interesting compositions in a small creek up the mountains of Stubaital/Tirol.
I hope they are not too bad for the first 645d photos but IŽll do my best to improve.

I am wondering if anybody uses Capture for Pentax DNG files. If so, which ICC profile do you use? Until now I have used C. for my D700 files because the quality is a lot better than Lightroom 3, just my 2 cts.

I had the camera for about an hour to test. The fisherman was a snapshot with 35mm and phaseone, the little dog with the 120mm macro.

Hello Jgan,
thanks first. As for Nikon: I am still not sure if I give up Nikon totally because in low light the the D700 as well as the D3S are super. Years ago I walked with an Arca Swiss 4x5 inch and Mamiya RZ. I liked the kind of photography and still prefer it over digital. On the other hand I had so many troubles with labs killing my slides, loosing them and so on. I think there is no way back to anlalog for me.
The resolution for sure is a main reason but even more important for me are subtle color gradations and 3d look of medium format. I made the mistake and tested the IQ180 phase one and printed 2 photos on my Epson 3800. The difference to 24x36 is huge. Also one hour with the Pentax 645d showed me the possible quality of the larger files. The IQ180 is not within my financial idea of an amateurs cam thus the Pentax by the way for me the better cam than the Phase One will hopefully serve me as my photographic tool for the next years.

I bought the new 645d. An important reason was this forum where I could find a lot of good stuff concerning 645d. Thus looking forward to getting my cam within the next two days and present some photos. Right now one photo from last week with my Nikon D700
I hope you are pleased neithertheless.
